On February 22,2024 I booked a room in advance for my birthday for March 2nd thru March 5th and received my conformation that Check In would be@ 4pm and Checkout Time would be@11am. Upon arriving at the hotel at 6pm maybe a little later and checking in to receive my room key/card I was approached by an unknown male that asked me if he can take my luggage to my room which I kindly declined. I then grabbed the cart they provided by the front entrance to load all my luggage and enter the elevator to head to my room which was located on the 3rd floor. I arrived at room #304 slid my key/card to enter, there was a man sitting at the desk with a hoodie on which seemed to be relieving himself in the dark. I immediately shut the door as I was distressed and concerned for my safety, and headed straight to the front desk where I was then told by the staff employee that no one should be in my room, the staff employee called the room as we (me and my friend waited) for him to verify and explain. The staff employee stated the guy left and we can go to our room with no explanation to why he was in my room! Need I remind you check out is at 11am. I then asked for another room for safety and sanitation reasons because honestly I don't even understand how the guy had a key/card if Check out is@11am, for the staff employee to tell me that wasn't happening because they were booked. I'm not sure if this situation would feel comfortable to anyone considering I could've been hurt just opening the door not realizing someone was in my room, let alone the human/sex trafficking with Orlando being rated with the 2nd largest number of human trafficking cases. I reached out to management at the hotel and still have yet to receive a reply or any explanation. Upon entering the hotel to check in I was unsure if there was anyone working. All the lights at and around the front desk were off and there was nobody in sight. I may be more understanding to this had we arrived in the middle of the night, but it was 7pm. Eventually I heard a female voice talking with someone on speaker phone/FaceTime behind the wall. I made some noise and the girl finally asked her call to hang on and came around the corner. She had an attitude like I was inconveniencing her because she had to check me in. She rushed through the process, completely ignoring any stay preferences and loyalty status I have earned over the years, and rushed back to her phone call as quickly as possible.

Approx an hour later I came out of my room to purchase some drinks for the family and noticed a young boy (who looked like he just came from the pool) waiting to be helped at the counter. I looked around and as I got closer I could hear her still on the phone all behind the wall. After a few minutes of me shopping around in the snack area she emerged again and the boy asked for a towel. I do not pretend to know what that phone call was about, but I do know it was much more important than helping guests.

The morning crew the next day was not much better. To their credit they were at least present at the counter (still with no lights on), but very similar demeanor like they did not have time to be bothered with questions from guests.

I stay exclusively at IHG hotels, have been a Spire Elite member for years and I own my own travel agency to which I can tell you this will be my last stay at this hotel and I would never allow one of my clients to stay here. On Saturday July 19th 2025 my family had the worst hotel experience we have ever had. My wife checked in around 9PM with our newborn son, our 2 year old daughter and our 8 year old nephew. She was in the room by herself and just got the kids to sleep. At 11PM or so, somebody banged on our door as loud as they can, woke up our whole family, and slid a extremely creepy picture under the door that had a human body with a pigs head that said "John porky is calling". I arrived at the hotel around 11:30PM and she informed me what happened. I immediately took the picture down to the front desk in which they took the picture from me and told me it's just the basketball team that's here. They proceeded to tell me they are on the same floor as me but 2 rooms down. They didnt move me, they didnt kick that team out, they didnt reimburse me just told me everything is okay. We'll everything is not okay. That creepy incident is unacceptable and to top that off, the room 2 doors down was screaming and arguing and clearly had 10+ people in 1 room. They argued and yelled until about 3AM. We called the front desk multiple times and they kept hanging up. Finally we got through after being hung up on about 4 or 5 times and they said the same thing, it's just the basketball team everything is fine. Everything was not fine. My whole family including my children and my nephew did not go to sleep until close to 4AM. I dont care if it was a prank, for my wife to experience that alone with children was terrifying to her. Then we didnt get any sleep from all the noise. This was hands down the worst experience and stay I ever had in my entire life.
