This is a really nice state park with clean facilities and friendly staff. The sites are gravel and almost level. The sites are spacious and some are a little bigger than others. The space between sites is generous compared to other parks that we have visited. Sites 1 thru 10 are pretty much open. Sites 11 thru 39 provide some or all shade. As is the case with many state parks, the RV sites are water and electricity. There is an easily accessible dump station with 2 lanes that you can avail yourself to upon arrival or departure from the park. We camped at Taylorsville Lake State Park Campground in a Travel Trailer and would...
Read moreWe used this as a base for 3 days on the bourbon trail. Less than an hour from Louisville, Frankfort/Lawrenceburg, Bardstown/Lebanon. We had a Class B van RV, so we used the bathhouse for showers. Our shower is best for boondocking, it’s tiny. Good power and water. Super quiet at night. We stayed 3 nights on site 20 in early April. Only about half of the sites were full. Garbage is close by, RV dump site was good, could use a hose…. Weak but ok cell signal, AT&T and FirstNet had 5G 1-3 bars depending on location. Occasionally LTE. Lots of deer, can hear coyotes at night, saw a polecat in the culvert. Trash pandas...

I saw Pileated Woodpeckers, White Eyed Vireos, Eastern Towhee and more! I didn’t get a chance to check any out other trails but I’m sure there’s tons of birds on the others as well. I loved camping where we did because we had a big open space to star gaze on the ground. Showers were clean, water was hot, bathrooms were spotless! We cant...
