Just a warning if anyone plans to book this hotel directly on their website. I recently reserved a room about a week in advance, the actual site I got transferred to finalize my reservation and pay was “direct-book.com” and I received a legit email confirmation from them. But when I called Dixie Plaza about an hour before our arrival (just to let them know we would be there a little past 9 pm), a lady with “southern charm and hospitality” told me, “Hon, we don’t have your reservation, and we’re full…” Imagine my situation – sitting tired at a random parking lot, with my son in the car, no wifi, dark outside, nowhere to go for the night. I frantically called Priceline. It’s a blessing they answer calls. They arranged a place closer to us. It turned out to be a very nice and cheaper motel. I had booked another motel for the next night of our trip through “direct-book.com.” So I called that place, and our room was confirmed immediately. There was no problem with their reservation done the same way as for Dixie Plaza. Now back home, I got a cancellation email from “direct-book.com” as if it was my fault I didn’t check-in at Dixie Plaza. Looks to me it was not direct-book.com’s fault, although Dixie Plaza lady blamed it on...
Read more(Front desk service was good) This place is the best! From the very beginning, all the junk and furniture on the sidewalk made me feel like i traversing an upscale junkyard! It was exhilarating!! And the rooms are just a perfect example of a cozy hotel room complete with tons of nice, 6-legged friends. Make sure not to disturb their peace, they sleep in the drawers and corners. So cute!! Also, decorations of the room were super unique! A cracking paint pattern with grime encrusted corners finished an elegant dirt film all over. My favorite part, however, was the community building they implement with the sheets. We got a little “hello” from every person who stayed in our room before us with their signatures on the sheets, wether that be a brown stain, black stain, or a mysterious red stain; it’s great that the bedding isn’t washed too often as to leave some dirt for the next family to enjoy. I will never forget my stay here, any times I smell a musty aroma with a hint of smoke, I’ll always think back to my stay at...
Read moreFirst problem was very poor WiFi signal my whole stay. After ask the lady at the front desk about the Wifi signal I was first told to open the curtains in the room to get a better signal. Against my better judgement I opened the curtains to try to get a signal to only have some guy staring in the window. After this of course didn't work I gave up and went to bed. The next morning at checkout I made a comment about the Wifi not working and I was told that some trees fell and knocked out the phone and internet which would have been ok if I had no spoke with her on the phone that night and could pick up a weak WiFi signal outside of the room. Second problem, the heater did not work well at all and their idea of a Comforter was as thin as the sheet on the bed so basically I was cold all night. Third problem was that the acessa panel to the bath tub was left hanging open off the wall and my Granddaughter almost got hurt on it. After all this I have to say that I will never...
