Temecula Vacation Rentals — Hotel in Temecula

My husband was looking for a house thru Air BnB to rent for or small intimate wedding since our original plans were canceled due to Covid. He found this house. Later, the owner personally reached out to my husband & “recruited” him to rent the house via her web site & not thru Air BnB. She knew from the beginning that the house would be used for our wedding & promised to work with us for the wedding.

A rental agreement for dates & pricing (including cleaning fees) was made via email.

Two days before the check in date, the owner called & claimed we never told her the house would be used for a wedding & possible number of people attending. She was extremely frantic, emotional & very unprofessional literally yelling & accusing me of not abiding by the email agreement (25 people). I advised her the number may increase to possibly 40 to include the catering & vendors, who weren’t included in original count. I tried to tell her that previous to this conversation, her assistant had sent us an email there would be an additional charge $25. extra per person above the original 25, which we willingly agreed to pay (possibly $375.). She kept cutting me off, refused to look over the email as proof to the agreement, continuously got more upset & continued to yell at me.

Then she gave me the ultimatum if I didn’t pay an additional $1500. (rental amount already paid via credit card), she would cancel the agreement & the house would no longer be available. My hands were tied, date close to the wedding & we had guests arriving from out of state. No time to relocate the wedding venue. I reluctantly agreed to the rental increase and the $1500 charge posted to our account within 15 minutes.

I was hysterically crying after conversation.

The owner was completely unprofessional, rude, condescending, took advantage to our situation, emotional and projected blame on my husband & me.

Once we arrived to house, we were completely disappointed with the unkept house & property. Pictures on the website are misleading & false advertisement.

2pm arrived at the house (95 outside) only to find the air conditioner unit wasn’t working. Made call to the manager & it took maintenance worker until after 6pm to get the unit working

most electrical outlets not compatible to devises (hairdryer, curling iron, iron, etc)

ants everywhere in the kitchen & we had to go to hardware store to purchase devises to rid of the ants

dirt was in the cabinets, drawers & even coffee filters

driveway cracked and had holes causing uneven pavement

ice worker in refrigerator didn’t work & was not disclosed

broken glass all over back patio

pool filter not working properly we were told the earliest maintenance worker would be available would be the following day

grass & plants were dead, grass uneven & full of holes (safety hazard), empty, broken plant buckets were lying in the bushes, several dead trees throughout the property, dead branches hanging down from live trees

piles of dead tree branches & grass piled high in back of house, causing huge fire danger

we personally had to trim & cut dead branches & flowers allowing property to be presentable to our guests

old, empty, discolored flower pots everywhere

I tripped & fell over cracked pavement from the main pathway from pool to side yard

broken window screen laying on the ground

utility meters were broken & laying on ground

water hoses lying all around

shuffle board area torn up with broken equipment lying around

threats to additional cleaning fees if instructions (on side of refrigerator, very hard to see) were not followed properly. Cleaning fees were included in rental agreement

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY! OWNER EXTREMELY...

Stayed at the Baileys Merlot House in June. They need to update their photos. There were no lush landscapes around this house, lots of big pots with dead flowers and weeds in them and very little patio furniture as the photos show. The provided linens did not include washcloths or hand towels or kitchen towels. The fully stocked kitchen had no bowls or small plates, no storage containers of any kind, no large pots for cooking for large groups, only clock we could find was on the microwave. There were 2 bedrooms outside the main house, one bedroom had a tub/shower that needed a step stool to get into, also had an old tv mounted up on the wall with no remote for it. You were only provided with 1 roll of toilet paper for each bathroom, 1 tiny bar of soap and no kleenex. You are expected to provide all paper goods, spices and laundry supplies if needed and hope you can take them with you when you leave. There was nothing left in the house from previous renters. When you pay that amount of money there are some things that should automatically be provided for you. The overall condition of the house was so very disappointing when all you have to go on are the photos. This house needs alot of TLC that it definitely...

My family and I, along with our two Labrador Retirievers, enjoyed a wonderful Memorial Day weekend at the Merlot Home vacation rental in Temecula. The house, pool, spa and grounds made for a relaxing trip. We had planned on going wine and beer tasting but ended up not leaving the rental as there was plenty to do with playing pool and shuffle board, laying out, swimmimg, relaxing in the jacuzzi, going for walks around the beautiful grounds, sitting around the large dining room table for meals, and hanging out in the family room playing board games. Our dogs loved being able to run around in the grass areas with not having to wear their collars. There were plenty of bedrooms for all of us to spread out in and each room had comfy beds, pillows and blankets to rest in. Kat and Patricia were fabulous to work with as they were kind in replying back to my questions and would respond back within minutes. It made our stay definitely more pleasurable. We all had such a great time and we can't wait to book this awesome rental again in the near future! If your looking for a wonderful escape this is definitely the place to rent as you won't be...
