Extended Stay America Premier Suites - Tampa - Fairgrounds - Casino — Hotel in Temple Terrace

Im writing this review after 2 weeks of staying here .

This Extended stay location is very clean , the property managers take good care of it .

4/5 for its cleanliness , I cant believe that this is rated as 2-star hotel, it should be 4-star hotel. Not even the high end hotels comes close to the cleanliness. However, its the people(customers/visiotrs) who keep throwing the litter like cigars , beer bottle caps . Hope the management can be little strict about it and ask people to smoke a little farther not right around the hotel because the kids can play near by the Grassy area which can be a nice place for famliy and kids to hang around .

3/5 for service - I truly want to give 5 star as everyone in the front desk is always helpful and courteous . Except for the lady I have encountered today . I was re-checking in as I extended my stay for another week. Once I was checked in at computer , that lady shud atleast tell me that Im all set , instead she was doing someother work and after a couple of minutes I had to ask her if Im done and can leave , then she replies 'Yes' . But why wudnt you tell me that as soon as its done and wait for me to ask if Im all set . NOW dont tell me that she is checking something for me , she clearly moved on to another task while I was still waiting there ! Also , we dont eat out and we cook here so I have dishes to clean everyday , so when I asked her for the extra dish soap packets ,she looked very dissapointed . Well , you are not giving me anything for free that too from your POCKET ! I dont want to take her name though , Im writing this because all the hardwork the property managers and other staff are putting in will go waste with one bad ACT ! Im not staying here for free , Im paying $77 to $80 per day , so atleast be respectful of that ! Im sharing this as theres room for you guys to improve !!

5/5 for maintenance - no other hotel has ever resolved a manintenance issue like here . Thermostat was not working and AC was off on weekend and the maintenace guy came and got it all done under 1 hr . I dont think any other hotels provide the maintenance on weekends but this one does !

4/5 for Safety - I have never felt safe in hotels but this location is awesome . If the management can take care of this drinking and partying in the building , this can be a much more safe place !

WARNING!! THIS HOTEL IS A SCAM! I think this hotel may have scammers as employees. I booked a room for ONE SINGLE NIGHT and upon booking I had to pay a $100 deposit on top of the room rate, which I was fine with because I usually have no issues when it comes to getting the deposit back from previous hotels since I NEVER smoke or damage anything in the room. With this being said I had full knowledge that if any smoking or damages were to happen in my room, my deposit would be gone down the drain. Therefore I was very cautious and made sure to even tidy up the room after I left to check out. A few days passed and I was still waiting to receive my deposit back. I NEVER DID! It was until I, myself had to call the hotel to inquire about my deposit. I was then told by the front desk receptionist that both head of house keeping which her name is Iicna and a house keeping lady that works below her named Maritza both witnessed and charged me for a smoke smell in my room. Disclaimer: I NEVER SMOKED IN THE ROOM! Whenever I did smoke I respectfully went outside where all of the other people that were smoking went. Also, when I spoke with the general manager named Francelina about the matter she quickly sided with house keeping and refused to be understanding and prove that I did in fact smoke in the room. I think this is very unfair especially for smokers because even if you do step outside and smoke but the smell lingers on your clothes into the room, they can easily say that you were smoking in the room and take your deposit. BE CAREFUL BOOKING THIS HOTEL, you MAY be accused for something you genuinely did not do. Not to mention when I asked the front desk for a later checkout time she told me that she could do it til noon, I guess the house keeping ladies didn’t like that because that both came and knocked on my door as if they were trying to rush me out of the room way before it was time. The customer service sucked and the room wasn’t as clean as I know it should have been. I was here for three months and one week due to my home being damaged from a hurricane. The first week I stayed was 500 and some dollars. The last week was over 1000. I understand rates go up at different times of year, but I feel there should be a percentage of people in there that given proof of the reason for their stay, they could have a set rate for their entire stay. They clean your room once a week and it is minimal. I had to borrow a broom from the cleans on many occasions because I was living and cooking in this hotel. I know, for a fact, they never mopped the floor the entire time I was there because I spilled yogurt and didn’t get it all up and it is still there now. They are supposed to clean your room once a week and it gets cleaned on whatever day they feel like it even though on the day, they are supposed to and you prepare your room, they don’t show up. They totally skipped one week! The employees at the front desk are very nice when they are there. The breakfast is not breakfast. It is muffins, hard boiled eggs, sometimes yogurt sometimes and granola bars. They open and close it when they feel like it and you can’t depend on any of those things to be there. I think this would be a nice stay for a week or less, but for long-term it is not. I understand this is a busy season in Florida, but I wasn’t on vacation. I was there for over three months and was charged more each and every week so much so that I ran out of insurance which is why I had to leave. Also, over the course of my stay I killed four German roaches. Palmetto bugs are normal in Florida. German roaches are not. I pray nothing got in my stuff! This hotel is decent, but many improvements could be made. They do not tell you how to use the appliances, rarely at the front desk but you can buzz them… The week they skipped cleaning my room I waited at the front desk forever.
