This spot was really pretty but so very crowded on the weekend! We stayed in the nearby campground so we were able to park at the boat launch for free, but if you’re not camping I believe it’s $8 per day to park there. The woman that sits at the entrance in a lawn chair and collects the day use fee was very rude to us and made our whole experience there very unpleasant. They need to put in a proper gate so that people can stop and pay their fees, rather than have this awful woman accost every vehicle that comes her way. She was obviously miserable working out in the sun all day, but that doesn’t give her a right to treat people so poorly. I would have given this place 5 stars if it...

Once Chinook Pass opens, its worth the drive over from the westside. There is plenty of shoreline to spread out and spend the the day. Parking could be an issue on the weekends.

Note: As of this review, (2024), parking is $10 per day or $5 with an Annual Forest or America the Beautiful Pass. If you are camping within the campground, there is no parking fee. They do make their rounds, and we have seen slips underneath wiper blades.

Bathrooms are pit toilets, and there are picnic tables scattered along the...

Some parking available close by but the other are supposed to be for truck & boat trailer parking and were mostly double parked with other people's vehicles. Went on a weekend for lunch with a small group. Very busy, no privacy with others walking through or nearby our area every few minutes. Some tables very close to one another. Bbq/fire pits at most places. Day use only. Requires day use or northwest forest permit. Would most likely be much more pleasant...

Always a great place to camp. Been camping here since I was a small kid some 23 years ago and it’s been a family favorite. There are nice hiking trails around and boulder cave is not too far and Rainer national forest as well. There are also island that you can camp in if your feeling adventurous. Lake is massive as well. Just a great spot if you want to get away from regular life and spend time in nature
