This was bad, I came in late after a long day of work and driving in from Maine and just wanted to catch a nap and a shower.
The clerk was pleasant enough but the facility is disgusting. I’ve posted some photos but should have taken more.
The lot had lots of litter, people smoking pot and hanging out in their cars, the secondary door close to my room was not secured, and the keycard lock didn’t work, but I was able to enter there.
I had a top floor room and proceeded up the stairs noticing the huge amount of liquid stains and cigarette ash all over the carpet, at this point I’m too tired to go find another hotel after midnight and too sore to drive down the road to a rest stop and sleep in the car so I continue to my room, when I get there the door is propped open with the lock mechanism.
I enter the room and turn on a light, it’s not exactly home but at first glance it looked like someone had at least tried to clean at some point.
I set my bag down and spend a second looking for a chair by the desk that every hotel room I’ve ever been in has. This one does not. Then I notice the smell of cigarette smoke in the room. I hadn’t noticed at first because the hallway stunk like weed smoke.
I called down to the front desk to let them know about the door and the smell of cigarette smoke so I wouldn’t be charged a fee for the smoke and explained I was too tired to argue or move rooms and I’d just stay in that one. A mistake, I later learned.
I figured maybe going to get some ice, turning on the TV, opening the balcony door to let some fresh air in and sitting on the bed for a minute sounded nice:
there was no bucket for ice to be found.
TV turned on but no channels worked.
I went to open the balcony door and just as I did I saw the light reflect on a web, then my eyes adjusted and I realized there was a spider a bit bigger than a quarter right at eye level that had wove a web across the whole door down to about waist level and I almost walked into it. I decided against opening the door. I looked at the balcony and quickly realized the railing was also covered in webs and crawling with spiders.
So I gave up, pulled out my phone and set some alarms, grabbed a T shirt out of my bag and wrapped it around a pillow and slept on top of the covers.
I woke up and relieved myself to realize there was some sort of water flow issue with the toilet where you could flush and some water would come out of the tank slowly but it didn’t really seem to build up quickly enough to flush the contents of the bowl down.
I also wanted to take a shower,
Saw the condition of the hair dryer covered in hairs, fuzz and dust, the used wash cloth left flopped over the shower curtain, and how dirty the bathroom was and decided I didn’t feel comfortable being barefoot in the building, packed my stuff and left.
I’m sorry, i get the room was only $56 for the night, I get maintenance and cleaning sometimes falls behind, but I’ll be damned if this even comes close to the bare minimum of what one should expect from a hotel.
It was bad.
I’ve used days inns a lot, and I know they’re not 5 star facilities, I like the lower price because usually when I use a hotel it’s for a soft place to sleep and a hot shower and breakfast.
But I’m done after this. This was too much.
I’ll pay the extra 30-50 and stay somewhere else more...
Read moreI lived at this particular day's Inn 2 years ago for approximately 3 months and it was one of worst experiences I've ever had in my life so much so I still have nightmares about my time spent there The first room they gave me was ok,it had an actual working phone, kitchen, cable and was fairly clean until I noticed the huge bed bugs crawling ontop of the bed! I told the desk clerk about it so they moved me but to my knowledge never treated the problem. The 2nd room seemed clean a bit outdated but I wasn't picky about that, good luck getting your key card to work and then having to wait in the lobby for the maintenance guy.The phone cords were ripped out of the wall & when I asked at the desk about it the clerk said I would have to pay extra on top of my payment for the room to have a working telephone! I didn't have any extra money at that time so I went without a phone which isn't really a huge deal but with having health issues I knew that wasn't a smart idea.I was scared to go out of my room even to the vending machine because of the environment, types of people staying there and the goings-on around there. I stayed in my room unless I absolutely had to go out. Thank God for good friends and family that helped me out with food, etc. One early morning I woke up and could hardly breath,my heart was beating so fast I thought for sure I was going to die in that motel room alone I could barely stand up and I couldn't call for help so I had to steady myself to make it down the long hall, walk down the steps and out to the front desk I then asked the clerk to call 911. I knew something was wrong I just didn't know what.Long story short I had developed a blood clot in my lung and am lucky to be alive. They still don't know what caused it. After that incident I decided it was time to move out. I realize this motel didn't actually give me a blood clot but I believe in some ways it contributed to it.I'm not sure if much has changed since I was there 2 years ago but I do hope so. I'm just writing this ridiculously long review to warn people about this motel and how it was when I was a guest there. IF you have a choice go stay somewhere else for the night.Happy travels and stay...
Read moreDo not stay here. Ever.
My wife and I stayed here on our way through, as we were heading to Hartford, CT. As others have said, the front desk person, whose name I did not get, was very helpful and happy to see us. Other than that, the place was horrible.
There were about a dozen dead bugs on our bathroom floor. Okay, not a HUGE deal (I guess) because they were dead, but when I dropped something of mine on the floor, I saw a pair of someone else's socks underneath one of the chairs in the room. Okay, THAT is a huge deal. The sliding door to our balcony was unlocked when we got there and the whole place just felt kind of dirty. When I went to take a shower the next morning (and I felt like I needed one), the hot water lasted about one minute before going completely cold.
When I checked out the next morning, I spoke to a different desk clerk than when I checked in and he basically could not have cared one way or the other about the bugs and the socks. He said he would speak to housekeeping, but I never saw any of the housekeeping staff. Ever.
Breakfast, if you can call it that, was poorly lit, the room felt dirty, and whoever had set up the waffle maker had put the metal guard on it upside down, so you couldn't actually flip the maker over to make a waffle. It took myself and another guest a couple of minutes to figure out how to get the waffle maker and the toaster cords unhooked from the metal guard, flip the guard over, and plug everything back in, because there was no one from the hotel in the breakfast area.
I'm just glad we had packed our own food and was using the microwave to make...
