I am writing to express my profound disappointment with my recent dining experience at your restaurant.. As an avid sushi enthusiast, I had high expectations for my visit, especially after flying in from Florida specifically to dine at your establishment. Unfortunately, my experience fell significantly short of those expectations.
The most glaring issues were with the quality of the sushi served. The tempura shrimp sushi rolls were served cold, and the parley roll charred uni was also cold. When I brought this to the attention of our waitress, I was informed that "sushi is cold." While I understand that certain types of sushi can be served at room temperature, the cold temperature of these particular dishes was clearly not in line with standard sushi preparation. This significantly impacted the taste and overall dining experience.
In addition to the issues with the food, I found the service to be lacking. The waitress's dismissive response to my concern was unprofessional and did not align with the level of customer service one would expect from a restaurant with your reputation.
Given the effort and expense involved in traveling to your restaurant, this experience was particularly disappointing. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and make the necessary improvements to ensure that other customers do not encounter similar issues in the future.
I would appreciate a response to this letter, detailing the steps you intend to take to address these concerns. Thank you for...
Read moreWe went on 4th of July to celebrate and spend some time in the Hollywood Casino as well. We made online reservations because we thought it might be busy and requested a booth. When we arrived nobody was up front and we were waved in by one of the waiters. We decided to sit at a table for two since they didn't have any booths. The waitress was a bit on the reserved side but after she finished her conversation with the customers at the next table she we were able to get our order in. The menu mainly contains roll options. We asked about a la carte sushi but got shrugged off a bit. So we went for edamame and three rolls instead of giving the a la carte sushi a shot because we didn't really feel that the prices matched the ambience of the place. We've been regular Sushi restaurant customers in the greater Toledo area but we're a bit underwhelmed by the options and the reception. The restaurant had a bit of an odd smell coming from one corner of the room. It was very noisy inside because the music playing was competing with the music playing on the casino floor. There were no desserts available and the waitress referred to other restaurants around the casino floor. All in all the food was good but nothing special. We expected a lot more of a dining experience from reviews we saw online to...
Read moreThe sushi is okay for its price. You can stop by if you are already in the casino, but you don't have to come all the way down here just for this. But I can say their service was great. I could feel that they put effort in taking care of their customers.
However, I strongly recommend this place to update their omakase menu. To be honest, I was a little shocked when I got a standalone roasted avocado for their $120 omakase dinner. The appetizer was great, but the following 6 dishes were too heavy and greasy. The yakitori in these courses weren't impressive at all. They were too burnt and too salty that I had trouble finishing them. These were followed by a disappointing roasted avocado. There were 7 sushi courses after these which were okay, but not impressive. Some of them had too much soy sauce on them. On the upside, they asked us if there were additional sushi we wanted to try after the final course, so you won't be leaving this place hungry.
Overall, I would not recommend their omakase for someone who wants mostly sushi. Their standalone nigiri pieces are not too expensive so I would just order these separately and you would be equally or more satisfied with $120...
