The fantasy suites are a fun way to escape and just relax. I have stayed in the Arabian Nights and once in the Rainforest. Both rooms are unique however I liked the Rainforest the best. This place has a pool & exercise room adjacent to the main lobby and a grill on the backside of the hotel. They offer a hot breakfast however at 7:15 A.M. the eggs & sausage were gone and only 2 slices of bacon were left. They do offer a Belgian waffle maker and waffle batter mix which was nice. We opted for their old fashion donuts. They do offer toast, fresh fruit as well as milk, cereal, orange & apple juice. Coffee is always available. The Rainforest features a multi spout shower, a two person jetted whirlpool/hot tub, a round bed with a star lit above bed mirror. Seating area for 2 as well as an in room bar complete with 2 bar stools, stereo, fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. If you plan on staying at this hotel I recommend you bring your own bathroom toiletries as well as your own bottled water. I do not recommend this place as a place for children as this hotel is more for adults. If you are looking for something fun to do while in town the Meskwaki Casino is less than 10 minutes away.

I will start with the rooms. The designer rooms are very cool. We stayed in the Cave Room 125. The ambience is out of the Flintstones for real. Look at the pictures. The hit tun and sauna in the room AND a double shower is very cool. We could not get the sauna to get up to temp, but it was late and we did not want to go down to ask how to work it faster/better. The hot tub was nice and we simple made due there. The double shower however was awesome. The waterfall feature and back jets...yes please. The downfall is the rock structure is more than likely hard to clean and there are patches of mold and mildew all over it. I have taken shower from a field shower and this was way better. The room is a bit damp and carpets and towels reflect that, but ventilation has to be difficult on thr best of days. It is worth your time, bit want to be open about what is here. Check out the pictures. Toledo, Iowa....who knew?

Very disappointing! Extremely over priced! We stayed in the Rainforest room and noted several problems. One of the selling features of the room was the promise of a "cascading waterfall" sadly, it didn't work. The hot tub area was very nice however, the hot tub had someone else's long blonde hair in it - gross! The room is full of nice forest like greenery rocks, and trees unfortunately, it's very dusty...causing a stuffy nose! The pool is under construction, so no swimming...and due to "pipe problems" coffee was not available, really?. The electronic shower was great but could have benefited from some cleaning products. The bathroom floor was clean - thank you shower that flooded the bathroom. We did not experience "tranquility" in a "fantastic tropical paradise" as advertised. And guess what folks...no refunds. Save yourself some green and check in to the nearby casino. Oh...the tiki torches were awesome!!

Do NOT stay here if you want a quiet place to stay. If you want laid.... forget it. Staff is noisy and unfriendly. Pool is advertised on the sign but it is empty with tons of beds in it. The place needs updated but you won't be aware of it till you get to your room since they updated all common areas. Only good thing about this place is the water pressure in the shower and the amazing restaurant next door. Is give it a zero if I could. Would rather have a refund and go to the super 8 a few doors down. Best bring some blackout curtains... You're own big screen TV and don't expect to charge anything unless you bring your adapter and cable cause the only way to charge anything is via the very few free wall plugs.

Less than 30 minutes after this review...they called our room and said they'd give us a refund if we were out in 5 mins. We packed our stuff and went to get our refund in which they claimed I yelled at the owner which I did not. Now they are making all kinds of accusations about me that are lies. Needless to say they kept our money since they appear to need it more. Cops were called. We're now banned from the property. Like I'd go back after this ridiculous so called business' unprofessional behavior. RUN THE OTHER WAY PEOPLE!!!!!!!! NIGHTMARE FROM HELL!!! We stayed at the Super 8 2 doors down and it was amazing. It didn't smell of weed and was super quiet and friendly.

This was their response to my review after all that went down:

Response from the owner 23 hours ago Dear ma’am. Our pool is closed. Upon check in you had the right to ask for a cancellation with full refund which would have been granted to you, you did not . You booked through Expedia in which it’s says that our pool is closed under renovations and closures tab. We are currently installing new mattresses and started installing around 11 AM and no earlier as 11 is checkout time and most of our guest are checked out. If we were noisy then please tell us so we can keep it down. Again since you booked 2 nights we would have refunded you for the 1 night upon check out today at 11 Am on 8/28/21 instead of telling us that we are noisy and asking us to keep it down nicely you processed to yell at our housekeepers when they were not even related in any way whatsoever to the noise. As for the outlets, there is one outlet in each side of the bed right behind the furniture. There is also a outlet on the lamps. We do not provide adapters and cables but if you ask for a charger or adapter and cable then we have quite a few of those but you didn’t ask for one.

PS: you did not ask for a refund, had you asked us we would have given you the refund for the 1...

We began staying here in the fantasy suites when we got married in 2008. They were such a nice change from a standard hotel room and relaxing too. We have not been her in awhile and decided to have a get away last weekend. We have been in all the rooms except the Aces Wild, which we chose for this trip. When we checked in, the clerk was not very friendly. As soon as we walked in the hotel, we regretted it. The hallways smells like cigarettes, one wall had a huge crack, A door on a room we passed looked like someone had kicked it in. When we walked in our room, we were disappointed as the room was very small compared to the other suites. It was a standard room with things squeezed in. The carpet was very worn. In front of the whirlpool tub, the carpet was frayed. I used the bathroom, when I flushed the water kept running so we had to take the tank cover off and mess with the float. 9did this each time it was used). Later in the evening, we decided to use the whirlpool. The drain would not shut all the way, so water leaked out and we had to keep filling it up. (gave up after 20-30 minutes). When we went to bed, the heater was set at 68. I woke at 230 AM with a sore throat and freezing. It was blowing out cold air. I turned it off and on a couple times and up to 72 before it finally started blowing out warmer. I did tell the front desk, but felt like he was annoyed with me for doing so. The other suites have always been fairly quiet, this one was not at all. We had people smoking & talking outside our window from 10- midnight, when the room next to us ran water we couldn't hear our TV. We could hear them in their tub as well. This is the 1st time we have ever felt that was about this place. We think it may be under new management as the previous ones were great with upkeep and staff was always friendly. If so, it's unfortunate as this was a nice...

My wife and I stayed one night in this hotel as a last minute stay on a cross country road trip. We checked in close to midnight and thankfully were gone by 6:30am. Even in that short period of time I developed a nice nasty cough.||||This was the dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in and with my wife being Latina I've stayed in some interesting places across Central America. When we entered the room we both said "OMG what's that smell?" I proceeded to check the fridge for mold and check the room for where the smell was coming from. While doing that my wife was putting some sort of lemon oil on the pillows to cover the smell. We then pulled back the comforter on the bed and the sheets were so dirty it looked like some sweaty dude just got out of the bed. I then decided we're leaving and started to put some things back in my suitcase only to turn around and see my wife laying on top of the comforter sound asleep as she was wiped out. I then put on long pants and a sweatshirt and covered the pillow with a shirt so I could just lay on the bed. I was awake all night reading a book on my iPad as I was to grossed out to sleep.||||The only decent thing about this hotel was the price and the fact that the bathroom was clean although the shower felt like getting hit with a fire hose as it was so strong. I was joking afterwords that the shower was so strong because it needed to remove the top layer of contaminated skin. The included breakfast looked as bad as the room so we skipped it and went to Perkins once we were closer to Des Moines.||||Sadly I'm not exaggerating about this place. It was truly disgusting and we would have been better off just sleeping in the car. I rarely write a bad review as I don't really believe in doing that but this place really was...
