First I’ll focus on how the current staff will quote one price on the phone then switch up in person. The same applies to online prices. This has nothing to do with increasing rates for the summer and more to do with scamming customers. It appears they could be skimming without the owner’s knowledge who they say is out of the country. By which they quote higher than rate and pocket what they can. Overall they will try to take advantage of you. While trying to get answers to why a room that was booked in advance was occupied the guy got very nasty! There’s a kid in the back behind a curtain who hangs out there listening, allows this drama to go on and takes part in the scamming that goes on. A customer walked in, returned key after one night and told them $325 a night is too much! He’s right! They quoted me $99 a night, then mysteriously change rate saying they never said that and they get combative! I had to phone police! At this point I had no desire to stay but intended to mediate because I will be filing a complaint. Beware! They discriminate against minorities, women who show up alone and the homeless! Which will be my future complaint. They’re nasty! Prior to all this they showed me a room and when I questioned the hair, dirt in tub asking if house keeping would have room ready? The guy snapped back it’s clean! It’s clean! Then proceeded to pick up hair in tub with his bare hands 🤮 As a healthcare professional this goes against universal precautions and denotes a very unsanitary and unsafe lodging! Which will be my fourth complaint. A nearby customer shared their dissatisfaction and complained that the water smells which could be a plumbing issue. This place will not last very long. They drive customers away and they don’t get repeat customers based on what...
Read moreWorst experience I have ever had a hotel/motel! If you are someone who values cleanliness, the smell of your room or even like a good customer service experience this is NOT the place for you.
Booked a non smoking room and got one however the moment I walked into the room it smelled so bad!!! Smelled like they had someone who was in there for a month just smoking away in there. (Room 203) we had to go next door to buy febreeze and air fresheners just to be able to unpack our car. (More $ our of my pocket) On top of all this I used the bathroom and the toilet was leaking after I flushed it.
We went to the office to let them know and they didn't seem to care. We were told because we paid he can't give us any type of money back and that he could switch our rooms. We went to switch rooms and the cleaner came and berated us because "they already sold our room and customers are waiting so we have to move our stuff right away" (this was only 3 minutes after we were told we could switched our rooms).
New room didn't smell like smoke but still was very unclean.
PLEASE for you and your families sake do NOT stay here!!! Pictures do not show the true state if this place. The steps are falling apart, the doors have scratches on them from dogs and the doors barely latch closed! Had a hole in the wall by the tub and a hole in the ceiling by the door. Towels were dirty and stained and the only toiletry we got was one bar of soap. If you want coffee you have to pay for the kcup in the office! Almost 300 a night for the place?!...
Read moreI showed up at Motel 6 on September 5th, to find out that the reservation I made was for a different Motel 6. A customer helped me locate the Motel 6 I was booked for, when I had no idea how to help myself. The manager not only tried and failed to help me or give me any incentive to straighen out the problem, but walked away and went back to washing towels.||||When I asked if I could use the men's room after driving 130 miles, I could not believe he said no. This Motel 6 in Tom's River is being run by a very unpleasant man, and at one point I was considering calling the police to help me.||||The customer staying there, knew more about contacting the Central Scheduling than the manager did. And one more thing. At no time was I rude or anything but over whelmed by this happening. I have traveled many times and never had something like this happen. I made it clear to the schedule office, that I would contact Motel 6 a day before Labor Day if I intended to cancel. There should have been a confirmation sent to me before this terrible event occured. This, I did not let stop my vacation although I thought about going back home. I am so grateful to that complete stranger who helped me. Shame on you Mr. Manager of Tom's River. Maybe some day you will get treated the way you treated me.|||| Dennis...
