My family and I have been vacationing in Lake George NY for about 12 years now and Have been staying at the Melody Manor Resort for the past 7. I can agree with the previous reviewer on one thing, it is a very beautiful place in an excellent location. However the rest of that review does not sit right with me and I think its probably some unscrupulous local competitor trying to tarnish a good name or some dope that didnt even know when he was coming and wanted all kinds of deals, but that
s just my opinion after reading what was written. Anyway, both Rose an Damian have always been very gracious and accommodating to all of our needs every time we have stayed there. Having 4 kids means we usually have some special request at some point and they have always been very helpful to us. Rose and Damian are both very nice people. The entire staff there is also very pleasant and polite as well. The rooms are clean and not small and cramped. They have some adjoining rooms as well, which is great when you need the space. I heard this year they will also offer some rooms with new kitchenettes. The location is excellent and the views are serene and picturesque. Melody Manor is situated right on Lake George with ample dock space for boat owners as well. The beach is clean and there are lots of lounge chairs, picnic tables, recliners, as well as outdoor grilling equipment. They have nice kayaks, paddle boats, row, boats and life jackets and vests and safety equipment, all which are no charge to use. The property is enormous and well kept, they must employ a dozen grounds keepers or so to keep it so nice. There pool is great, I have to say, it is always the perfect temperature, and it is in a perfect spot. Each morning you can see a member of the staff making sure the pool is pristine and clean. There are plenty of reclining lounge chairs as well as tables with umbrellas for cover and shade as well. They have a beautiful, well kept, full size Tennis Court which we also love to use. They have other outdoor games and activity stuff for kids too. They have a full size Ping Pong table, a Shuffleboard, full size basketball courts and play sets with swings and slides in various locations. As far as the restaurant, what can I say, it
s some of the best Italian food I have ever had, and I grew up in an Italian neighborhood in the Bronx, so I know good Italian food. The restaurant staff is also always very pleasant and courteous. They get a nice tip from me every time we dine there, I appreciate good service with good food. The kids love and usually get the chicken tenders and pizza which by the way is very good and we like to try the specials as well as some of our favorites which include there fish dishes which are exceptionally good, all of their authentic Italian dishes are on point and traditionally delicious. The wife raves about their Chicken Parm and their Chicken and Fettuccine Alfredo and I have to say their meatballs are phenomenal as well as their Penne a la Vodka and anything with their Italian tomato sauce is really good. The pasta is always cooked to perfection. Everything has always been great. The bread is fresh and probably the best I have ever had and their salads are always fresh, not sad looking like some places. All in all, Melody Manor Resort is a great place whether you are looking for a weekend getaway or a couple of weeks to vacation with the family. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat to anyone looking for a pleasant vacationing experience. I cant wait to go back. This year we will be back in July for a couple of... Read moreFirst let me start off with saying that this was better than I could have ever imagined and am so thankful we chose Melody Manor as our venue. We got recommended to check them out from our caterer. From the moment we met with Charis we knew this was the perfect venue to celebrate with our closest family and friends. The gave us ample information about what they offer and gave us a tour of the property and rooms. if you are not familiar where they are located, they are a few minutes outside of the town of Bolton Landing right on Lake George with stunning views of the lake and mountains nearby. The weeks and days leading up to our wedding Charis was so communicative and helpful with decor drop off and vendors coming to set up (dance floor, tent, etc.). Though I really only worked with Charis from MM her husband was always around working hard on the property and available if anything came up. The day of our wedding was such a great day even though it rained and large part of the success was Charis and her husband. The bridal suite on property is spacious and offers enough room for everyone to get ready with 2 large sliding glass doors that overlook the lake and offer lots of natural light for hair and make-up. There is a small kitchenette, and they even got us a toaster so we could have bagels. We rented their event space and had just under 80 guests. Our ceremony was on the lawn above where they had a beautiful stone wall and stone staircase. Had weather been better we would have been closer to the lake/stone wall, but we still got to have a great view of the lake, and all the property had to offer from our back up spot from the rain with a tent. The dining room was filled with 9 rectangle tables and gave for a romantic dinner party vibe. The bar area separated the dining room and where the dancefloor was which made for a perfect layout for our guests. It was the perfect layout and size space for that size wedding. When packing up the next day Charis was a true MVP of helping us sort out the decor from the day prior. We truly could not have had such a great day without the support and guidance of Melody Manor and we will always be thankful and appreciative of all the hard work and effort they put into our...
Read moreI highly recommend staying at Melody Manor. It was the first time my 3 friends and I ever stayed at Melody Manor, so we didn't know what to expect and now that we know the charm of this establishment, we all said we would go back and/or would recommend it to our families.
This resort is older, which I believe was advantageous because I think whoever bought the property, got a prime location with one of the best views around and they were generous with their space, as the suites were larger than most establishments. They also had a beautiful green space/yard surrounded by stone, with the mountain view right there, perfect for an event or wedding. We of course weren't hosting that but got to enjoy a sunrise there none the less. Also, we got to enjoy many of the amenities including pickleball, the pool, their private beach, and use of their kayaks and paddle boards, which involved no extra charge. Additionally included with the price of a stay at this resort was coffee and donuts in the morning, which although is a small offering for breakfast, it's included without an extra price, and it is still very much appreciated.
Lastly, I think the owners and managers of the hotel provided wonderful services and were very responsive. I unfortunately locked my friends and I out of our suite one night in-between 9-10, when I went to get marshmallows for our fire (there are fire pits there). I called the after hours number and one of the managers came in about a minute to unlock the door to our very clean room, with curiousness and kindness.
Thanks for a...
