My husband started coming here as a baby. When we got married it started our tradition as well. My children love it and think about it all year! The cabins are very rustic, so if you think camping, it is a five star resort, with fireplaces, furniture, your own bathroom, etc. But the fixtures and appliances are very old and they do allow pets, so there is a lot of cleaning to make it hypoallergenic "enough" for my children and myself, since there are no carpets and we cover the mattresses with covers we are able evade allergies and asthma. We do enjoy other peoples pets, so it is fine here especially since we can not stay in a hotel which allows pets because the carpet traps the dander and there is minimum acess to fresh air. BRING your own bedding!!! Each night there is entertainment such as bingo and square dancing. Since Trout Lake Club is isolated, the children have a lot of freedom and make friends with others who come every year. They run aroundbin packs! I notice my children grow from the interaction and playing WITHOUT video games for the week. Sometimes it is tough to find a vacant cabin if you are a new family because it does become a tradition where friends and families come each year and you keep the same cabin if you come each year which is lovely, it's the closest thing to owning your own cabin! TLC used to be completely without internet service (there are no tv's here) but now there is a hot spot near the office, which I personally enjoy. I can't say enough how special this place is for "unplugging" and getting back to nature and enjoying time with friends and family. Swim, boat, kyack, and the late night campfires. Just think of a camping feel and you should love it. If you think full service resort you will be disappointed, so don't bring high heels unless you plan on going into town! It is truly a lovely & safe place for...

The Cabin "Beech Lodge" was very clean and spacious. 3 bedrooms, loft, kitchen, bathroom, living room with a fireplace and large screened in porchMy sister paid a very affordable price for 5 days. The weather wasn't great but we had a great time out on the lake. Tgey had kayaks and row boats and life jackets. Ping pong and a playground. Tons of firewood. Their is no cell reception anywhere on the campground...it was nice to get away from the technology and have peace of mind. We would definately reccomend staying for an affordable off season mini...
