Thronson's Motel — Hotel in Town of Cardston

It's redeeming quality is that it was an extremely is a clean room. Otherwise I would have rated lower.

I ended up giving three stars just for that but there a a few negatives that would cause me to find something else when we return to glacier. the bed is very jiggly/bouncy. Any movement by your spouse will awaken each other all night long. the room locks with old style keys. The door doesn't have any throw locks to secure from the inside. So any prior guest who made a key can get in while you are sleeping. So could the maid. Or owner. I slid my big suitcase in front of the door at night. no kleenex tissues. no internet. The store next door that owns the motel did offer to let me sit on their park bench and get on their wireless. tiny TV gets only one station of 1990s movies. Seriously. two pillows have slip covers on them to match the bedspread but this makes them unusable. Might make the bed look pretty but I prefer usable pillows with real pillowcase that are easily laundered. there is only a night stand on one side of the bed. Where does one of us put our glasses and phone etc.? I thought on the phone I asked for a larger room or bed but it is small with a single bed. The motel doesn't email any confirmation so who knows. Could be I misunderstood. tiny bathroom with no counter space. But like I said it is really clean.

Don't bother going to the cattle baron restaurant up the street the prices are outrageous. There is a cheaper side but it was pretty bad. Have your meals in the many glacier park restaurant; that food was outstanding.

Overall because of the sleep issues we will probably look elsewhere next time. I nearly rated a 2 but it was so clean I had to...

What a delightful experience staying here was! The staff was friendly and the room had many positives. The location was perfect for accessing Many Glacier (although we never could secure shuttle tickets … sad), but we used it to get to the Belly River area and St Mary’s entrance.||The room was well sized, with a comfortable bed, a fridge/freezer, a good sized shower stall, and a chair on the motel’s breezeway. The bedding was comfortable, felt clean, and staff provided extra pillows and towels on request. Housekeeping was very kind as well.||The office staff, at the general store, were helpful and friendly! Each interaction was good customer service.||The room has a tv with only one channel, but they supply a large selection of DVDs to watch, which was fairly adorable - and of which we partook. ||Parking in front is easy, and you can walk across the street to a nearby cafe. Road noise at night was super minimal.||Note that upstairs rooms have AC and downstairs...

This is a great place to stay. The beds are very comfortable and the room is super clean , with air conditioning. There is a fridge in the room with a tiny freezer and you don’t have a microwave but there is a microwave that you can use at the general store that is right beside the motel it opens at 7:30 am. The store is well stocked with a variety of things and fairly priced considering you are in a pretty remote area, they also have an extensive library of DVD’S that you can watch in your room for free. Everyone is friendly and helpful that works there and you get free ice if you are staying at the motel. I was blown away that each day my room was reset with my bed made and linens refreshed ! A luxury that has gone away with the big hotel chains . Love this place simple but perfect , and a price that most can afford . A great resting spot for the serious hiker .
