Panther Mountain Inn and Tavern — Hotel in Town of Chester

I was looking for a place to eat and saw that they were still open. It was almost 8:30 pm so I went in and ordered a burger and ordered a philly wrap for my mom and mozzarella sticks and a half order of buffalo wings for takeout. When I got home my mozzarella sticks were missing and the kitchen was now closed. She said that the next time I come in she would give me a free order or discount another order for the price. My mom said the wings were the best she had in a long time and they were jumbo wings. Lots of meat and cooked to perfection.She also loved her philly cheesesteak wrap and the portion was generous. My burger was an 8oz (half pound) burger with bacon and cheddar cheese. It was huge. It comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle and fries. I ordered it medium well. It was moist and juicy but it had burned areas on the outside of the burger I did not like but that is a personal preference and I am rating this on the quality of the food. Now the French fries were freaking amazing. I am wondering if they are homemade because some had skins on but the were light and fluffy on the inside and had that crisp outside. The only thing is there is no salt on them and by the time I got home the salt wouldn't stick, but that's not their fault. I put them in the microwave for 30 seconds to warm them up, put salt on them, and closed the box and shook them up to get an even distribution and they were excellent. They were just as good as my uncles homemade fries. I have been back 3 times since then and the food is amazing. Their pizza is ok. I'm a tough critic on that coming from the Long island/NYC area so it takes a lot for me to give pizza a 5 star. I would say theirs is a good 3.5 while I would give their other food 5 stars. Definitely a great place to get a burger or wings and the pricing isn't bad for the generous portions you get. I think a whole order of fries was $4 If you are eating fries as a side to a meal item, a half order is plenty. My review is for the customer service only, as we were never checked in!||||I made a reservation for one night stay only that was confirmed via email. We arrived at the hotel and there was nobody at the reception. We rung the bell, I went downstairs to the bar (as the note was left on the receptionist desk saying to go downstairs if anything is needed).||||The lady at the bar said she will call Jaimie and that she should be back any minute. After half an hour I called her cell that was left on the note on the entrance door. I also emailed her explaining what is going on...No response at all!!!||||While waiting, we notice that the inn is really outdated.It is musty, dusty, and old. ||||After an hour and half of wait to be checked in, we left and started searching for another place in the area so we'll have a bed for the night. ||||Jaimie phoned me back almost two hours after we walked into the inn, leaving message that she doesn't know what it going on and that she's been there. We had dinner from the Panther Mountain inn tonight, never again. We had to wait an hour and a half for our food. They said it would be done in an hour but when we got there it wasn’t ready. So, I was sitting at home starving with six other people. Anyway, when the two fathers finally came home with the food, we were disappointed. The quesadilla and Turkey bacon, ranch wrap were soggy like a swamp, one of the pizzas were charred but my tenders were good. The woman on the phone was also rude and didn’t have a good attitude. They gave us a refund but told us the manger wasn’t there because “They were overwhelmed”. Turns out there were about five people at the bar. When they went inside to get a refund, the owner was also there. If there wasn’t a manager they could’ve at least let us talk to the owner. They also said that they didn’t do takeout anymore. If they didn’t do takeout, then why not tell us? I don’t recommend this place if you have a big group of people, not a lot of time and want a quesadilla or a turkey, bacon...
