Just met up with friends for a weekend at Green Acres Retreat in Hancock! It seems it was an old motel (think Schitts Creek), but new ownership turned it into this cool boutique spot that feels way more luxurious than you'd expect.||The rooms are amazing - our room was completely renovated. The bedding is like sleeping on a cloud. The whole place is stylish without being fancy, and the staff is super friendly, making the vibe really welcoming. Breakfast is also provided in the room rate in the main lobby of the retreat. Make a beeline for the fresh pancakes - i did.||The real kickerâthe communal fire pit. It's this cozy spot where guests can meet up at night. I met some awesome people and had a blast sharing stories around the fire. Such a nice touch!||The retreat is close to Binghampton, a quirky college town filled with antique shops and vintage clothing stores. I spent a day hunting for treasures and found some cool, unique stuff. The shopkeepers were like walking history books, sharing stories about our finds. Also, they make a great martini at Abel's Pub||Green Acres Retreat is the kind of place that surprises youâin the best way possible. The front of the hotel, while off a main road, had plenty of space to hang out, with Adirondack chairs surrounding a large fire pit, picnic tables and a gazebo. Itâs a great place for a family or work retreat or just to relax and enjoy the fishing and local river activities. 9 rooms have been remodeled, sounded like they were finishing the rest over the winter. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had a...
