This is one of the most peaceful and beautiful camping spots I’ve ever been to. Tucked away from the noise of the city, it’s absolutely worth the 2.5-hour drive if you’re looking to reconnect with nature.
The campground stretches from the base of a small hill all the way down toward the ocean. There’s a large, well-organized area for both tents and RVs, with plenty of space and privacy. What truly stands out is the atmosphere — people here are incredibly polite, respectful, and quiet. No loud party music, no rowdy groups. Everyone seems to be here for the same reason: peace, quiet, and the sound of the ocean and trees.
The beach itself is clean and wide, with soft white sand. It’s rarely crowded, and often it feels like you’ve found your own private slice of paradise. From the barbecue zone on the hill, there’s a breathtaking view of the ocean — and strangely, that area is usually empty, so it’s perfect for grilling or just relaxing while looking out over the water.
The restrooms and shower stalls are impressive for a campground — spacious, modern, and very well maintained. I’ve never seen them dirty, even during busy weekends.
This place is also great for families. Near the main entrance, there’s a small playground for kids and a more populated public beach nearby. That area tends to be busier and livelier, so we usually park there ($10 per vehicle), then walk down to the quieter beach near the campers’ side.
