Do not ever stay in their Condos, they were such a disappointment. Generally I rent a condo for my family to be together and cook and eat. That was impossible. The "resort" is just a place to sign up for golf. The fitness center is over a mile away, There is no pool, or any common area, it is not a resort. My son did go there for a meal and they took and charged his credit card. When the waiter returned there was no card, they never found his credit card and never said another word about it????
Let me go over all the failures:
As you can see by the picture attached, the utensils were the ONLY item in the drawers. There were no knives, spatulas, pots or pans. No kitchen towel or hot pads. NOTHING. There were a few dishes, but not even 6 and we rented a 3 BR condo. They could not have furnished the place any less. There was NOTHING to put your clothing on in any of the bedrooms, no drawers/dresser or flat surface. There was a nightstand with a lamp, but the cord could not reach as far as the outlet, and there was no extension cord, so no night light. There was nothing at all to make the place look nice, nothing on the walls, no lamps to lighten up the big empty room. The deck had peeling paint and two crappy chairs (remember, this is a 3 bedroom condo, usually with more than 2 people) No hair dryers in the room, but that was OK. Water easily took 5 minutes to warm up, but at that point there was no water pressure, so I was scared to wash my hair, worried that I wouldn't get out the shampoo, no exaggeration! I noticed a neighbor had a grill, but when I commented on that they said it was useless because there was no gas, nevermind no utensils. Remember 3BR condo, they gave us 4 towels (they did bring more, but why did we have to ask, maybe they assumed no one would shower since there was no water pressure?). I've rented condos before and never have I been so disappointed.
We had no choice but to stay, they had already charged us (over $800/night), where are we going to find on a summer weekend for 5 people?
I was so distraught about our accommodations it affected my entire weekend, I will NEVER go back and hope this...
Read moreAbsolute disaster. If I could select negative stars, I would. We were invited to a beautiful wedding at RMC. The weather was beautiful and the grounds are spectacular. That is about the only positive thing I have to say about the experience.
The ceremony was held on the top of the mountain, in which you had to receive a ride in a golf cart. Problem is, they were only running 2 shuttles back and forth with over 100 guests. When the ceremony ended, we had to wait approx 35 minutes in the blazing sun to receive a ride to the other side of the property, where they held the cocktail hour. Once we entered The Barn, they had only 3 plates of food out for everyone to pick (not enough food was provided).
After cocktail hour, we then had to walk across to the other side of the parking lot, which we were all excited to be inside, after sitting outside in the hot sun. However, once we entered the venue, they did not have their AC working!! They had a simple portable unit for the size of bedroom, attempting to cool down a venue for 125 patrons. When I asked if they could turn up the AC, the event planner told me it was on. (Clearly a lie, because they were scrambling to open all the windows and put portable fans throughout, which did absolutely nothing for people wearing dresses and suits).
Once inside the venue, they placed dry rolls with no butter along with a family style bag salad of just lettuce. We then sat for 1.5 hrs, before they brought any food out, never walked around and refilled water glasses, and had bar stocked smaller than my bar cart at home.
They then brought out the cake with cupcakes, however, they never actually cut and served the cake to the guests because “cake cutting wasn’t in the contract”. What a sham of a business. If you are thinking g about hosting a party here, think twice.
As an aside, a family member who needed a handicap or first floor room had booked and were promised the accommodations as requested. Upon check in, they received a second floor room, which they couldn’t access. They were then switched to a first floor room, but it only had a single bed, when they paid for double occupancy....
Read moreI recently attended a wedding at the Roscoe Mountain Club. The wedding was beautiful. Everything was set up beautifully and the bride was stunning. It was a hot day (to be expected), there was water available and the bride had fans for guests. When the ceremony ended we had to wait for two 4-person golf carts to cart us to the cocktail hour. It took about 45 minutes in the heat for our turn. By the time we got to the cocktail hour most of the food was gone and the wait for the bar for any kind of refreshment had an over 20 minute wait. When we went to the building for the reception we were immediately hit with hot, humid air. It was hotter inside than it was outside at the cocktail hour! Staff was scrambling to set up fans and open filthy windows. Pictures from the event have wires running on the floor and portable fans in the background. The tables had small glasses of warm water and warm, flat champagne for the toast, which must have been poured hours before the event. The glasses of water were never refilled once the entire night. Requests for more water were denied and we were sent to the bar. The bar had about 4 bottles of liquor (no whiskey, no rum) with only a few options as mixers. The food was sub par. The chicken was reconstituted patties and the potatoes were clearly boxed. After the cake was cut we did not receive cake (cutting it wasn't in the contract?!) nor were we offered any tea or coffee service. Staff appeared to be scrambling all night with rumors the chef was quitting due to poor working conditions. If the ballroom was over 90 degrees, the kitchen must have been unbearable. A woman at my table said that her husband did not attend and she's glad he didn't come because it was clearly not handicapped accessible for him. The grounds of the venue were beautiful so it's sad to see it being run so poorly. This place has a lot of potential that is being wasted by...
