The Inn at Peek'n Peak Resort, Trademark Collection by Wyndham — Hotel in Town of French Creek

This is a very unique resort. It’s like a step back in time in another country. It’s absolutely beautiful here. The staff are amazing and the front desk clerks were extremely friendly and accommodating. The foyer has a sweeping staircase leading to the second floor. The pool is huge and the hot tub was relaxing. I was shocked to see 3 lifeguards (most hotels do not have lifeguards) and they were very attentive to guests. Everyone greeted us with a smile. Towels are provided. The pool/hottub were not crowded at all. The outdoor pool area looks amazing, however due to the weather this area was closed to guests. B|Our room was nice, but maybe a little smaller than anticipated. We got a 2 bed loft suite with a pullout couch. The stairs leading to the loft were very narrow. There was a small fridge and microwave, but no table or chair. There was also a nice fireplace. Our heating/AC unit did not work, so they moved us to the same room type, but across the hall. This room was the same size, but had a balcony. Very cute! The only issue with this room was the pull out sofa. It smelled horribly of urine and was extremely uncomfortable. I did not call to complain, because they had already switched our room once, so we had to tolerate the urine stench. It seems they must be aware of this, because others had to have stayed in this room before us and reported this issue. The rooms are very quiet, but you can hear everything- and the doors slam hard. They do provide 2 sets of ear buds for guests (but we had 4 guests). |The hotel grounds are amazing. There are outdoor firepits (2) and a nice area to sit and converse with guests. Upon check in I was told the restaurant was open until 2 am, so we decided to swim and relax and eat later. Pool closed at 10pm, we arrived to the restaurant at 11:01am and were informed the kitchen closed at 11pm. However the restaurant sat the couple that arrived at the same time as us, and we witnessed them serving their food a lot 1/2 hour later. That was disappointing. |Be aware there are no places that will deliver anywhere near this resort. Luckily there is a tavern a few miles away that was nice enough to take our order, so we were able to drive to get our food and take it back to eat. Everyone, except the restaurant employees, were absolutely amazing and helpful. |Also, be aware there is no elevator in this hotel, and a lot….A LOT of stairs. ||All in all it was a great stay. If not for the urine stenched pull out sofa, and the restaurant staff that seated people at 11pm that were literally standing next to us, yet then told us it was too late to seat us….then I would have given this hotel a 5. ||Again...

This stay was a disappointing experience. We came because the website states that tubing  is offered, however upon arrival we found out that tubing is NOT OPEN and that others have complained about this confusing advertising. They should list the specific dates when tubing is offered to avoid confusion.

There were issues from check in through check out. The check in staff member was nice enough to apologize for his issues. The check in person also acknowledged that other guests have complained that they too were under the impression that tubing was available, based on the information offered on the website. The BEST staff we experienced were at the pool. That was the only positive experience. The indoor/outdoor hot tub was great! The sauna may need to be serviced to get evenly hot.

The other staff need training on basic customer service.  One staff member even tried to tell me that the website does not say that tubing is available. You shouldn't argue with your customers, but rather listen to what they are saying. I have visited many ski resorts and if there are date restrictions, they are clearly stated. I cannot find where it states that tubing does not start until mid-December (as we were told at check in), if that is indeed the case, why would you  not share this information with your potential guests? We wouldn't have wasted our time coming had we known that you were not going to offer tubing until mid-December.  We came as a family for tubing and spent money to stay for 2 nights for nothing. .  It is almost as if you want to get guests to come, spend their money on their rooms because you need guests. We learned a lot from the locals as well. It appears that this is scheme that the Inn uses year round to get people to stay at the resort from golfing season through skiing. That is sad!

The rooms are outdated and smell. In the room you leave signs that state that earbuds are complimentary, but they are no where to be found. If you are not going to have something, remove the signs from the room. The toilet in our room had to be repaired, the room was so small that the pull out couch basically hit the fireplace when opened. It was a very cramped space. This "inn" needs to be updated. I am surprised this is now a Wyndham property.  If we return to Peek 'n Peak we have no plans to stay here again, not worth the money...

Very disappointing!! WAY overpriced for what was provided!! Outdated, dismal, dirty, musty, moldy. Room we were assigned as part of “wedding block” was absolutely horrible!!! Small corner room, that had not been updated, on other side of Inn from our friends in the same block. Their rooms were updated, larger & much nicer!! Damp moldy carpet, cobwebs, spiders, smelly room, unfinished & sloppy fixes attempted (can light, mud filling holes in wall over wallpaper), bathroom door sticks. View from room overlooked dilapidated roof of adjacent building, outdoor maintenance appeared nonexistent, couldn’t even open window to get fresh air. Discussed briefly with one front desk attendant, but appeared obvious she was unable to assist the situation due to management and/or owners. Would NOT recommend this “resort” and/or Inn to anyone!! Owners should be ashamed & embarrassed!! Managers should actually walk around to the rooms and look at the horrible accommodations that are being provided for the price!! Put some type of effort & attention to detail into making your facility habitable so you can have some pride!! I am disgusted & angry with this location, will make sure as many people as possible know NOT to stay there, and will most definitely will NOT be staying...
