Little Sweden Resort — Hotel in Town of Gibraltar

This was the 4th time I have been to Little Sweden. We stayed in one of the villas again. It is a two bedroom sleep 8-10 people. I gave it a 9 rating because it does not have a restaurant of convenience store on property. What it does have is a pool indoors and outdoors, free golf and free bikes to use on the property. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. One of our visits was in the late fall and I was able to enjoy my coffee in the sun room, during the warmer times you can enjoy the deck and the gas grill. Unlike many timeshares you are not required or requested to listen to the sales pitch. However they do have sales staff and they post the Hot Sheet of weeks for sale. The last one I saw listed property from about $1500 to $9500. I should point out that this is a Shell VAcation Resort and if you are an owner at one SVC Resort you can exchange with other SVC resorts using only points and no other fees.

Fish Creek is on the Green Bay side about ½ way up the peninsula so you are close to things to do in Door County. If you plan to prepare your meals there is a Walmart and large grocery store in Sturgeon Bay about 30 minutes away. Door County is a great place for Cherries and apples which are used to make wine and pick your own. There are many Wineries to visit and sample. IF you are into sightseeing there are several lighthouses and other historical buildings to see. There are fishing and sightseeing boats for your pleasure. If you visit and it is a chilly night you can sit by the fireplace and enjoy the fire, the wood is provided free by the resort.

You will NOT be disappointed. We waited til a couple days before booking and so glad this was available.

The entrance to the facility was so fun! Cheerful colors and bright on a very gloomy day. The check in was flawless and the receptionist was so friendly. Amenities like free golfing was amazing. The three club house rec centers were all so nice and not busy at all. The work out areas has just enough variety.

The complimentary cherry crème coffee was a nice touch in the lobby. The lobby would be a great space to hold a larger gathering.

The rooms were so spacious, clean and felt like home away from home. We are always thankful when the booking marches the pictures and the descriptions online and this space actually surpassed our expectations.

The bathrooms are huge and plenty of space. The outdoor porch was a treat and the deck was as well. What a treat!

We loved our time at Little Sweden. We would love to return. Our only complaint is our time wasn’t long enough!! And the weather didn’t cooperate but at least there’s not a shortage for things to do in Door Co.

The location is perfect. In the middle of a lot of options to visit. When you’re there, it’s worth taking a little trek north to Charlie’s smokehouse if you like smoked salmon. Some of the best in the world!! And there’s a farm to table shop called Bea’s. The pies and pastries are amazing. Cherry chip cookies are a must!!

Little Sweden and Door Co....

We’ve been coming to Little Sweden for four years and this will be the last. It seems every year there is an issue that is promised to be resolved yet crickets when it comes time for management to actually do anything. This year was the feather in the cap. Upon arrival, we discovered our condo was not cleaned. Dirty diapers, dishes, unflushed toilets, and no clean sheets or towels. Management gave us the option of cleaning our own cabin or waiting without any notice until they could figure something out. After an hour of waiting, we were told it would be a liability if we cleaned ourselves and were being forced to re-pack and move to another cabin. In meantime we were told 3 people from management would show, no one appeared. After finally getting into another cabin, about 3 hours later, we were promised credit and DC gift card. We didn’t get any credit and the gift card was half of what they promised. Apparently those authorized to issue higher credits were “out on vacation” (something not mentioned when we checked in). We were told we were “lucky” to be able to even get a new unit, which was incredibly rude. We will not be returning.
