So my wife, I, her parents and her sister stayed here this past weekend. Let me start with if you’re expecting a hotel this will NOT be the place for you. If you plan to cook out or eat in, bring most grocery items or you will pay extra for them at or near the resort. Other cons about the resort I would say at least when we went, it was $40 extra just to bring my sis in law with (per day), area set up for landscaping but many things left undone I.e bags of mulch everywhere none opened and used, many, many possible mayfly hatchlings we could not seem to get away from, smell of manure near the boat landing on the peninsula. Which brings me to my next point, I had planned this trip for months one of their biggest selling points was a boat landing you could drive to and off of at the peninsula. Not until I checked in did we find out that the boat landing was “under construction.” So going for a walk one afternoon and smelling the manure we walked to the boat landing where things were roped off and sprinklers were set out, but no real construction. They did however offer 1 bottle of wine for my father in law and I having to drive to the public boat landing (no signage). Also no beaches and no fish cleaning shack/area. The other big selling point was the chalet built in 2003 nice, newer. Going inside this wasn’t the case see included pics. We also encountered a few smaller issues that luckily they or we resolved quickly. Pros: pretty friendly staff, beautiful views, beautiful water, ok covered marina, lodges are definitely rustic, good signage when getting close to resort, pet friendly but be warned many including the owners just have their dogs...
Read moreMy husband and I had our wedding at Dillman's on September 18, 2021, and it was the most perfect weekend. We worked with Dillman's staff (mainly Stephanie) the whole summer leading up to our day and she was always professional and kind.
We had the majority of our guests coming in from out of town, so almost the entire resort was from our party during the weekend; everyone raved about how gorgeous the resort was and how fun it was to stay all in one spot close to all the wedding festivities.
There is the most beautiful spot to have the ceremony right by the water, and the weather turned out perfectly for us. Dillman's was amazing at helping to set up the chairs and give us recommendations about how to do everything. There is also an amazing spot up top where the tent went (we got a 40 by 100 tent for around 200 guests), and Dillman's was also so helpful about giving the tent company directions when we weren't sure.
We chose to host a welcome dinner the night before where over a hundred people attended that went amazing, and the day of the wedding went without a hitch! A member of staff was always around to help us when we needed anything, and the bartenders were amazing, efficient, and fun.
We will definitely be coming back for our anniversary year after year; they even allows dogs, so our 10 week old puppy got to be apart of the celebration! Highly recommend Dillman's as a wedding venue; our guests who were from the area kept going on and on about how they didn't know there was such a beautiful place for a wedding...
Read moreThis year was the sixth we have visited Dillman’s Bay Resort. My husband and I get to enjoy our favorite things; he loves to fish and I am an artist. The art studios and instructors that are scheduled spring through fall offer options to make the process of choosing a class and visiting when it works for you an easy one. It’s wonderful to also be able to bring our dog and enjoy wonderful walks everyday at the resort on the paths among the pine trees and with the beautiful lake views. The fishing, my husband says, “is kind of a tough lake to fish”, but he never seems to tire of it! The cabins we have stayed in are all in excellent condition, provide everything you need from towels to dishes, etc…and are very cozy. There are nice eating establishments in nearby locations. Denny and Sue and family are wonderful people and make the whole experience very comfortable. We are seven hours away and it is a worthwhile trip to the...
