Super 8 by Wyndham Highland NY — Hotel in Town of Lloyd

BED BUGS!

After a dinner in New Paltz, my wife and I returned to our room and got into bed to watch “Boardwalk Empire” on my laptop. After one episode, I turned the lights on to go use the restroom. When I got out of bed I noticed three large (full of blood) bed bugs on my pillow and on the mattress.

We immediately went to the front desk. The guy there, Zack, was very polite and helpful, but they had NO containment procedures in place at all. These guys get NO TRAINING as to how to deal with this kind of situation.

I wanted to ensure they were not in my hair, not in my clothes or bags, etc.

I asked Zack for large garbage bags and my wife and I returned to the room to throw our existing clothes in the bag and change into new ones. In the meantime, Zack at the front desk called and got us another hotel nearby. As soon as we arrived there we showered.

There was NO system in place to make sure that these parasites didn’t get into my car, brought into the new hotel or into my home.

Zack promised me that his manager would call me the next day to assist me. That was now a week ago and I have yet to hear from anyone at Motel 8.

Further insult to injury: While I was freaked out and trying to pack everything and get out of the room quickly, I left the charger cable for my MacBook Pro in the room. I called a few days later to see if it ended up at lost in found. Of course, it was gone.

I had been going to Motel 8 in Highland over the past years a good number of times because it used to be a reasonable place to stay in the New Paltz area.

I will never set foot in another one of them again. Board of Health should...

ROACHES!!! ROACHES!!! ROACHES!!!

I was so embarrassed when my family visited from out of town and I brought them here. When we walked into the room there were ROACHES on the walls and ROACHES on the bed. When we asked for our money back the front desk person didn’t have the authority to refund it.

I was so embarrassed for bringing my family here!

I was also disappointed, this use to be a nice hotel. It has clearly been poorly managed over the past few years.

After calling and leaving messages for the next few days, I finally reached the manager. She said she Had intended to call me back. She also said she couldn’t issue a refund until they found proof. After a few days she called me back and said they did find a ROACH CARCASS in the room and that she would refund the money.

Don’t stay here unless you have no...

Dont usually rate but read the poor review below and have to say the hotel has improved... I stay almost every other week due to work... I always have towels ...there is no coffee pot BC its a keurig... Therefore it drips into a cup... The ice machine is one the first floor along with the soda machine n vending machines... But come on its one floor!!!! I've been to many hotel when they rnt on every floor... Staff have always been accommodating.... They have a picnic table n small BBQ grill outside for those of us that r long stay ... The breakfast could b better but hey nothing in...
