Just spent a very nice weekend here in a 29 foot fifth wheel. Our spot took a little bit of leveling. They were kind enough to bring a big brick to give us an extra step since we were so high. I think repositioning of the campfire pits would be nice, site 20. The one is to close to each others camper. Most sites are shady. Just a few with more sun. One area & tenting area full shade. Prices are great. Bathrooms were nice and clean. Playground could use a bit of updating. No store or game room, has laundry facilities didn't use tho. Very quiet and relaxing. Dog friendly... lots of dogs, people do a great job cleaning up after them. Tubing, kayaking, canoeing rental Right handy in the campground with river access right there-prices reasonable. They were very prompt and picking us up and very helpful with where pickup spot are since we had never been on this river.they have a very nice map to point out the different landings down river. Was told these are new owners and old owners took a little better care of grounds. We enjoyed our stay and will probably be back! And as to comment about no one being around. They are running a campground and have little things to tend to. Each time no one was there they're usually was a note left explaining where they were. Maybe you should leave a sticker pad for us to leave a message if we miss you? Just an idea..We missed you a lot but that didn't bother me because you were always around, I knew I'd catch up to you! Thanks, it was fun! UPDATE They did some changing around and the campsite we usually stayed on is a storage area. I don’t think will be back anymore just not much room and the few sites I like that have some grass are harder to come by. We also changed to a 39.4 ft fifth wheel and will all the trees and being a smaller campground we wouldn’t have many options. However I still say if you’re there for the tubing and kayaking and you’re not so concerned with the camping experience it’s still a great...

When we arrived to check in, we were greatly very rudely by what I can only assume was the female owner. It seemed very much an imposition to have arrived in two cars and a request for $5 cash (not check or credit) was requested immediately. ||We are new to camping so paid the fee and left the office as quickly as possible because we had obviously offended her somehow. ||The next day we ran into town for lunch leaving our dogs in our air conditioned 5th wheel (for apx 1hr around 12noon). We honestly had no idea this was a no-no and received a call from the owner letting us know they were barking as people walked by the camper and that we needed to return immediately. I completely understand wanting a peaceful campground and was embarrassed our dogs had behaved badly while in our camper. I apologized and promptly returned. ||That said, how I was talked to on the phone and treated for the rest of our stay was flat out disrespectful. The Campground is for sale - would be a fantastic spot for owners who smile rather than frown upon check-in and can convey a request kindly. Sites are tight but most are shaded with mature trees. There is a small playground that young kids really seemed to enjoy. The Campground roads were gravel and sites mostly level. There was no cell phone reception (we have AT&T) and no wifi. ||As a side note, our dogs were otherwise always with us - when outside either leashed or in their pen - or with us in camper - and we cleaned up after them - as all dog owners should. This is our first year of camping, this was our 5th weekend camping - staying other places before with...

We spent the Weeknd here for UW Stout parents weekend and found the camping to be very nice. The only downside...the local county highway was busy and for some reason, vehicles headed east from Irvington think it's acceptable to really accelerate hard past the area. So many positive things. The reservation was easy. If you pay cash, they will knock a few % off the nightly rate. The spots are close together but arranged so you don't feel like you're invading your neighbors area. The people who are more permanent seasonal residents are quite friendly. Everyone is respectful and quiet. The showers and bathroom areas are well kept and clean. The water could be 10-20° hotter in the showers, but it wasn't bad. If we come again for a weekend to visit our kid, we'd stay here. So close to campus. Right on the Red Cedar river and the bike trail. Thanks everyone!

This very old park is set under a mix of large evergreen and deciduous trees. They have tent, full hook up, and water/electric sites but most of the full hook up sites are taken by seasonals. There is some road noise from the adjacent road. The bathhouse is dated and in need of cleaning during our 5 night visit. The shocker was upon leaving they charged me $5 to use their dump station. Not included in the price I paid for my water/electric site? This is nickel and dime stuff. I stayed here because it was the nearest park to what I needed to do in the area. There are not a lot of other choices.
