Checked into the landmark Motel. 9/26/24 at Approximately 5 minutes later we went to room 120 to use the bathroom before unpacking. As I sat down on the toilet the entire seat went off the toilet crashing to the ground and taking me with it. I immediately called after taking a picture and we were out in room 121. I was asked if I was ok at the front desk and I thought I was, I also didn’t want to upset my daughter or my grandson. Both were rattled by the loud crash. When we got to 121 of course that seat was loose too so the desk clerk came and screwed it on.||The next day I sought medical attention with some bruising and back, neck and shoulder were extremely sore. I asked that an accident report be made and the dark haired girl in the office said she’d leave a note for the owner Sean. While we were preparing to leave as we were in town for a death in the family and the necessary planning, the housekeeper knocked she told us flat out she’d be fired if anyone saw us talking but that she had been putting in maintenance reports all summer. She said she too had used the toilet in the 120 room and it had come off but she didn’t report it because she would be fired. I am thinking if she does it won’t be the end of the world. |Saturday we again got in later about 8:30 we walked in the room and the beds were not made, dirty towels were in floor BUT garbage had been emptied… cups suddenly appeared in the coffee machine after 2 days… I called the front desk to get towels and the owner answered. He said they would be in the lobby— and I said NO he could bring them. At 9:20 I went over and showed him the pictures of how the room was “cleaned” and asked again for an accident report. I was told it would be available Monday. I also asked for his last name—- he didn’t seem to know it.||We have stayed here many times when the former owner John owned it without issue. It is not new, not the greatest but it was always CLEAN. The pictures are of room 120 for the toilet seat and the rest are 121 we literally had plastic over anything with cloth on it and kept belongings in our car. ||When we went to use the pool the smell of chlorine burned our lungs within seconds of opening the door. There was NO WAY I was going to risk chemical burns or worse so I had a very disappointed grandson.||The lack of concern of the owner with someone getting injured on his property is sickening. This place needs to be checked out by the health department at the very least! Anything that we brought in the room had to be bagged and carted off to the washers to avoid moving bedbugs along.||We asked Saturday and Sunday for an accident report finally the dark haired girl handed it to me Monday am. It was so full of BS I didn’t sign it and was given a copy.||BEWARE this is not the LANDMARK MOTOR INN it used to be and the staff and ownership can care less...
Read moreSo when i made the reservation i specifically asked if the hot tub AND Pool we’re open. The person I talked with said it WAS. So I went ahead and reserved a room near the pool. When I got there there, they could not find my reservation and they had me FAR away from pool. Hey corrected that and got me close to and i went to room, I ordered some dinner and unpacked and this was 2 hours after i got into room. Went down to pool. The pool doors were master locked FROM THE INSIDE. had to go get the lady and we went in. THE HOT TUB had a sign saying closed for maintenance, no signs of workers or anyone. The pool was cloudy disgusting!!! I went back to the office to tell them what’s going on. And I didn’t see any signs in the office of the hot tub closed for maintenance. The guy insisted that it would be open today but the pool closes at 9pm and it was 3 o’clock when we confronted him about this issues. I went back to the room used my bathroom when I heard people loudly outside, took a look out my window and there was a group NOT SOCIAL DISTANCING AND NO MASKS ON. (Due to COVID regulations in NYS you need to be 6 feet and mask on) they were smoking not cigarettes and drinking RIGHT OUTSIDE my door. At this point I didn’t feel comfortable staying here for my birthday. So I used the telephone in my room to call the front desk. The phone didn’t work so I used my cell and made several attempts to reach them finally when I did, and explained he was rude and hanged up on me SEVERAL TIMES and told us he’d only give us a refund if we stayed in the room for ONLY 5 MINUTES! Say what???. so I back into my car and drove back to the office bc the room they put us in was far away from there. I went explain to the male worker my situation. And he was giving us a hard time. He insisted he could switch us to another room after awhile of us arguing, he finally gave in and said in these exact words “bring back key and i refund” he was foreign. I said I’d be back in five with everything i packed. He apparently knew he was wrong. So went to my parking space and the drug people next door took my spot. Got all my stuff out and went back to the office and dropped Key. Told him to have a nice day and left. Im waiting for the refund to come through. I’m writing this review to warn people of the people who work here and the fact I’ve stayed here 3-4 times a year for the past 10 years and from this bad experience I WILL NOT BE...
Read moreMe and my family came here for vacation, and oh my god, we will never come again. The room was disgusting when we got there. Nobody had vacuumed, dusted, or wiped down the table. The shower had what looked like mold growing as well as food crumbs in the tub there are cracks in the ceiling, the front door dead bolt lock does not lock so you are left trusting the chain sliding lock and the door locking mechanism. Each light bulb had spider webs around it, the heat in the showers does not work for more than 5 minutes the knob just turns and turns as well as when you want hot water the pressure cuts in half but cold is almost so much pressure it hurts. There are open wires with exposed ends, and the phone does not work. My phone won't even let me connect to the wifi because it is seen as unsafe which is highly frustrating because there is little to no service here, and there is only 1 microwave for the whole hotel to share, not one in each room. The curtains hang over the ptca/pthp unit (heater/ac) making the room smell like burning fabric when you use the heat as well as it opens the curtains because of the airflow taking away from privacy so we had to shove the curtains against the wall and set stuff up to hold them back to avoid a fire. When we got here, the window was cracked open, almost as if we were supposed to notice it. There was a little card left for us to leave money for the house cleaners I blocked their names for their safety. The only positive thing is that there is a 24 hour market across the street thats it. I hope this helps with your selection...
