I loved this place the first time I came here and they still have beautiful items, but the prices have become far too expensive. I won't be back most likely. Really a bummer. I can get new for a comparable price. I know the volunteers have no control over the prices, but a word to the wise for whoever runs this store....those of us who thrift are on the lookout for deals. We know these items are donated and we're not interested in paying top dollar for something dinged up and scratched. A used Instant Pot for $103 because new it's $130? Nope, no thanks.
Update: Thanks for your response but the fact remains that no one I know goes to the Restore or thrift shopping hoping to get a "new in box" (aka probably an Amazon return) for slightly below or comparable to retail. We go because we're looking for good deals in a world that's far too expensive. I don't care if an item is "new"...if it got donated to you for free, the customers should be getting a DEAL. I'm not the only one that thinks that. My mom and I chatted with a man while at your store and laughed over an ugly end table/nightstand with 2 drawers that should've been $30 max being priced at $200 because on whatever website it costs more than that new. Get real. I'm really bummed that the Restore is going the same way as Goodwill and pricing people out of donated items...
Read morePrices were way higher then I expected. The albany restore was much more reasonable just much to far, a shame I was so looking forward to this one closer to home. The staff was horribly rude and cold. I wouldn't shop here again.
Itâs been years since my review, so I Decided to give them another try, they lied about the price via messenger, and then was rude to me about it when I got there to buy the item. I showed them the message from them clearly quoting the price the lady simply said âtoo badâ spun on her heels, walked into an office and slammed the door in my face! Never again!! I will support other restores but not this one! They are so pretentious for items that were donated and proceeds are going to people in need. Unfortunately the ones who will suffer aren't the ones in the store being so rude for no reason. There was no 'explanation of pricing' just uncalled for rude people who I obviously was a waste...
Read moreWe purchased a light fixture from here, when we brought it home and wired it into our home it would not work. We live an hr. away and have tried returning it (with receipt) on two separate occasions. The employees said it doesnât count as an electronic and that we need to call the store manager to approve the return. We have called 3 times and left messages with no response. We are a young family on a budget, and this is just really sad if we wasted that money. Seems like the fixtures should be tested, and that buying broken items shouldnât happen. I thought habitat existed to help a community.. they wonât even give us the courtesy to...
