I'm updating my review since Ive now stayed after the company Getaway was bought out my Marriott. My stay was really not good. I requested a ADA cabin due to my disability and was reassured multiple times by now Postcard cabin that they had my request and could accommodate it. I got my confirmation email and it said nothing about the cabin request. I then contacted Marriott and talked to someone I think was in France and they told me they had the request but there was NO guarantee and then told me it looked like the cabins were already booked and not available. I then got the email for postcard and emailed them and they told me I had the ADA cabin. I then replied back to be sure as Marriott told me they "were not available". At this time Postcard responded back letting me know that the cabins were having maintenance during my stay. This is now days before my stay, too close to cancel and refund. I was told they could put me in a level cabin but that is all. I decided to try this and when I arrived there were 4 steps into the cabin, and the shower was so small I could fit my shower seat inside. I also feel off the stairs during my stay as there are no hand rails for safety. Also during my stay at a cabin that is meant to get you out of the loud city and into the quite of the wood I sat and listened to backhoes and dump trucks going back and forth. Never once was I called to be informed that my quiet stay would be louder then expected. I get these things can happen last minute but then you should call your guests and let them know and allow for a reschedule OR maybe offer a refund of some kind as an apology for not getting the full experience.
Also they now tack on a $35 fee daily for wood, coffee, tea, cocoa, and snacks. $105 for 3 night stay that you can not refuse. I have multiple food allergies and celiac I don't need other peoples food I supply my own due to my conditions. The wood I was supplied was 3 packs and NEVER got replenished during my stay even though it was suppose to daily. Again no option to refuse this destination fee.
I did connect with a manager post visit to just let them know how this stay went and how dangerous the situation was for my disability and if I was fully in a wheelchair I would have been camping in the woods rather than glamping in a tiny cabin. I was told she was very sorry and she would get back to me about some type of either refund or something as this was just not acceptable. Never heard anything back from her. Unfortunately this is no longer the Getaway company and now a big international company that I will not support. For the price of this tiny cabin for 3 nights I can rent a Air BNB for less money as they have now raised prices and tacked on fees for stuff I won't use.
I had a trip planned for the fall but decided to cancel this and its been now nearly 2 weeks and 3 calls to Marriott and still no refund.

Read moreWe enjoyed our stay for the most part. We had a really bad first experience with them because our code wouldn't work and there was no physical key in the lockbox. It was getting late and we were told we might not have service. So we panicked. And had to pray that texting to their customer service worked and that someone was even there. Luckily someone came like 30 mins later but we could have been SOL if it was any later in the day. I do want to note the staff member who came to assist us was very apologetic and kind, this is not their fault.
The stay itself was great. But the rules and specifics on the website are NOT CLEAR. It is a lot of false advertising on their website. We brought our cat to our cabin. We did not know of the rule of it being dog friendly only. Everywhere on the site says it's "pet friendly" and so we paid the pet fee thinking we'd be clear. But we then were randomly charged $100 for a cleaning fee over a week later after we gave a good review because the place needed to be "deep cleaned". Cats are much cleaner than dogs. We get it rules are rules and why cats aren't allowed, but it's still really shady. But we even brought our own cleaning supplies like a broom to clean out our mess. The fact that you have to pay all this money and a PET CLEANING FEE and still charge more is outrageous.
We were told the room needed to be "clean" and "put back in place" when we left. This is a hotel. Just like any other place. As long as you don't destroy the room, you're okay because there is staff to clean the room. We cleaned the counters, dishes, the floors, etc. We just didn't make the bed and left trash in BAGS because they told us we could leave it there with no worry. We would have taken them otherwise.
It just seems like shady business practice. That no matter what you do, if it's not perfect, you'll get a charge. And to wait 8 days after the booking and the good review was sent, is very suspicious. Like somebody else said on here, they don't take any responsibility. Be more clear about your rules RIGHT AWAY when booking. Don't hide policies on your website. Be clear and thorough. We are disappointed this experience ended like this. We loved our time at the cabin, but probably won't go back to the Wild...
Read moreI recently stayed in one of the cabins end of September. I very much enjoyed my time in my cabin. It was well set up, private, and the area was very quiet. The large window is awesome and I did get to see deer right outside of my window on one of the mornings. 2 things that weren’t perfect was overall the cabin was very clean the shelves next to the bed were VERY dusty. As I was unpacking I realized and had to wipe it down. Not the biggest deal. My other problem while staying was the fridge wasn’t working very well. I had the temps set full on coldest setting and without opening the door it sat between 45-50 degrees. I travel with medication that needs to stay between certain temps so I always carry a fridge thermometer. I texted the customer service number and they sent someone out quickly. He agreed that it wasn’t really getting very cold so he tried to find a remedy but stated they did not have spare fridges. I suggested switching out a fridge in an empty cabin. The customer service team tried to tell me that 45-50 degrees was perfectly fine for things like meat and eggs. Sorry but no it isn’t eggs and meat should not be kept over 42degrees MAX. They did offer still to switch it out which I accepted. The new fridge worked extremely well it kept cold at only half the way up on the dial. So clearly the other one was not working well. I do suggest you bring a cooler for certain things like drinks and such so you don’t need to be going in and out of the mini fridge. Outside of these two issues I had I’ll definitely be back! FYI for those staying there is a great place in Hancock for fire wood. Tom’s Top Notch Firewood, great firewood for a good price if staying for multiple days it’s worth the trip to load up on wood. The wood is self serve...
