Is this Wisconsin? I'm not sure I thought I was on another planet called heaven. Amazingly beautiful Resort. All the Comforts of home without the effort of taking it with you. Very quiet serene and beautiful corner of Door County right on the bay sandwiched pleasantly between a wonderful Preserve with jogging and bike riding paths along the cliffs and a town with all amenities at your disposal. From what I can see every Cottage or townhome here has a beautiful view of the Bay. Heated swimming pool, hot tub, sauna with shower room, kayaking, bicycles, and boats right on the bay no extra charge. The staff is amazing and will show up to help you with whatever you need at your call yet completely invisible during your stay. Town homes and cottages make up this lovely resort. Our Cottage had a full kitchen bath and living room amenities along with a gas grill on the front deck overlooking the bay. The bed was extremely comfortable with a bathroom large enough to accommodate the whole family at once for getting ready, Not to mention a skylight as well. Depending on which cottage you choose, there’s usually either one or two TVs with cable and WiFi,and you can plug in your fire TV or Roku easily. The cable box says it has Netflix but I have not used it. Easy access to the entire peninsula from this Resort. I have come back 5 years running and it just gets...

Our family stayed here over the new year holiday 2011-2012 and it was simply perfect. I've known about Cliff Dwellers for more than 20 years, but never took the opportunity to stay until now. The Townhouse building is definitely unique, but love how it is built into the natural rock outcropping. It has a wooded setting to the west and a lake view to the east and you can see the shipyard across the way. The interior decor is simple and straightforward and contemporary (no red oak and harvest gold wall colors). Tile at bathrooms and foyer, newer modern cabinets, formica tops, wood floor at main area and carpet upstairs in the bedrooms. This is a great place to set up shop for a week, buy some groceries and hang out on a budget. Beds were comfortable and the linens were clean and fresh, the housekeeping was responsive and prompt. Parking is exposed under the building, it was a little hard backing out onto the road as traffic seems to be a little too swift driving past the establishment. The only and one TV in the unit was a little small and outdated, but there is more to do than sit around and watch a movie here. But other than that, you can't find a more charming place to stay. Would easily recommend Cliff Dwellers over the newer "resort" style operations in downtown Sturgeon...

I have loved this place long before we ever stayed here. When our kids were young, we'd ride by on our bikes from camping in the nearby state park and marvel at the "motel built on the bluff that crossed the road." My husband and I would often say between ourselves, that someday when the kids were grown, we would return and stay there--it just looked so romantic perched between the limestone bluff and the bay. And so we finally have! We stayed in Aspen Cottage also on the bluff overlooking the bay. For a little building, they pack a lot of conveniences in. They offer a full and well stocked kitchen--plenty of room to cook for two. Seriously, in the age of COVID, literally every item associated with eating was wrapped in cellophane or in it's own new package. I also appreciated their system of handling used linens! There was a lovely king size bed. The well appointed living room is heated by a thermostat controlled gas fireplace--super cozy on chilly evenings and mornings. The windows have blinds between the panes of glass--very easy to use. There were plenty of towels in the spacious bathroom which had generous counterspace and a large walk-in shower. This is a seriously nice cabin at a very reasonable price. Obviously the owners really care about...

This resort is beautiful but humble, and a great, safe escape during the pandemic. Was absolutely amazed by all the steps they have taken to adapt to the covid 19 pandemic. We came here hoping to get a safe getaway for a weekend and it paid off. It does mean some changes what you'd normally expect from lodging stay, such as no daily housekeeping and no front desk staff, but workarounds put in place are more than sufficient and very safe. The resort it self is right against the waterfront, with ample space for boating using the included boat rentals and fishing. We didn't use the pool or spa but both looked clean and very nice. We stayed in the Aspen cabin, which was spacious and comfortable. The bed was very soft with plenty of pillows, and the fully loaded kitchen was great for cooking some breakfasts and even a steak dinner using the included grill! The resort is perfectly located, about a half mile walk to the ice age trail and a short drive from other state parks. Lots of restaurants in the area, some of which do delivery right to your cabin. Overall, a wonderful escape made all the better by being a safe getaway from the pandemic. Would stay again.

Perfect little one bedroom getaway for the week in the Beach Cottage. There's a fireplace (works like a charm - it was cool and damp my last night there so I turned it on for about 10 mins). There's a grill on your patio and a little table - all situated about 8 ft from the overlook to Sturgeon Bay (the water) below. Wonderful to just sit there (morning, noon, and night) watching the people and the animals go by. A pelican stopped by on the water one day and a group of geese took up residence Wednesday through Friday. You are right next to the pool (good/bad - easy access for you/people really enjoy the pool and can get a little loud) and you have a very short path down from your vehicle to the front of the cottage. Office is just a phone call away if you need anything. Nice size fridge and stove. Well stocked cupboards -- plates, glasses, utensils, and a few plastic storage items.
