4.29.22 For those of us who can't afford the $1K per night stay here (min 2 nights) they offer $35/day hiking passes. On FB I saw the $65/day pass to see their "tulips". That part was just ok because there weren't that many tulips (they advertised it as 20k which really isn't a lot). BUT the $65/pp Day pass also included access to the grounds, you could visit the house (indoors old looking and not impressive) but the exterior is magnificent. The pass also let us hike their trails so we did Eagle Cliff, Labrynth, Sky Tower, etc. And it included a 30 min boat ride of your choice (pedal boat or Canoe. Kayaks were put away because it was too windy). The $65 pass also included access to all the trails and grounds and we saw at least 30 "tree houses". The walking paths were all well marked and easily accessible by young kids or older adults. We saw some with canes and poles, enjoying the grounds. And at 4pm there were cookies and tea included in the day pass. This was amazing to sit on the outdoor rocking chairs which overlooked the lake. Our take away was, you pay for the outdoors. I didn't see what the bedrooms look like but I can't afford them anyway. I guess this place has a spa and other amenities. My focus was hiking, gardens, and walking paths. I thought $65pp was well worth it as I was there from like...
Read moreOne of the better hikes in the mohonk area. If you decide to do it the pay off is great. Best for teens and adults in decent shape. No young children it can get pretty dangerous. You'll be going through the labyrinth and the lemon squeeze trail. But if you do have young ones or Seniors with you there is a alternative trail that takes you straight to skytop tower that is flat and manageable for them but it is still a bit of a walk going uphill. There is plenty of parking at the visitors parking lot but you still want to arrive early cause this place can get packed pretty quickly. There are two bathrooms along the trail and a port a potty. So make sure you use the bathrooms when you can cause they are far apart. If you decide to take the labyrinth trail I recommend wearing a long sleeve shirt a light jacket and comfortable hiking boots non-slip. You can wear sneakers but be aware the stone you'll be walking on can get pretty slippery in some points so take it slow. Also leave your pack or make sure it's lite and can collapse cause you'll be going through some tight spots. If you take the alternative trail you can bring whatever you want just remember it's still a bit of hike going uphill on gravel path but there are some flat boulders and benches along the way to take a breather...

From start to finish it was just the most wonderful visit. All the staff seem genuinely concerned that you should enjoy your time here. The hiking is amazing. Beyond amazing. The views are breathtaking. Tons of activities! Horses, the lake, paddle boats and canoes, a terrific spa, Archery, group activities, indoor pool, lockers and showers, nice rooms, no TV, good wifi, lovely restaurant with great attention to detail in the menu, sweet and thoughtful evening entertainment and just the most beautiful land and views. Everyone who works here really tries to make your stay as good as possible. It's a really special place with so much history and owned by the same family since the late 1800s. It's remarkable being there, and we can't wait to go back! (It really is as beautiful as in all the photos. A very special...
