Read to the end! This was a convenient stay for our cross-country ski trip. The room was VERY clean which is appreciated these days! Quite interesting decor, mostly in keeping with the retro/Gatsby theme. Online photos are wide angle, giving a larger-than-actual-size impression. Other than the surprisingly small room, the stay was fine and the bed was comfortable. The town's business area is a very short drive from the inn if you need anything (gas, grocery store, banks, post office, etc.) The only downside is I couldn't redeem credit card points (via my credit card company) for the stay because the motel's MCC code with Visa/Mastcard is "tourist attraction" instead of hotel/motel/inn. So, depending on your credit card company and rewards program, you might not be able to EARN points/miles or be able to redeem points/miles for a stay here.    Read moreBooked through booking and it seemed decent. Should have consulted recent Google reviews before committing ourselves. Where to begin?? The “streamlined convenient check-in process” is anything but. You have to call a number for a code. A poor cell connection required repeating the numbers. One small bath towel. No hand towels. No wash clothes. Dirty bath mat. Dirty sheets. We were convinced the sheets were not cleaned. Dirty pillows. No coffee, though there was a coffee machine. No hot beverage cups. The TV required unplugging a few times to get the audio to work. The floors needed vacuuming. A sign indicating “as a gesture of hospitality” the following items were available for purchase, I’m not kidding…bath towel 25$….pillows $25…used coffee maker $50….and a non-existent radio for $50 to name a few. Again, I’m...
Read moreAbsolutely charming hotel next to the Great Sacandaga Lake. My husband and I were looking for a weekend getaway in Upstate NY and chanced upon this gem of a place. This place did not disappoint! The owners had newly renovated the rooms and exterior to make it Great Gatsby themed and we got a room that made us feel like we were transported back to the 20s - loved it! Everything was brand new and very clean, beautiful hardwood floors and charming decor. Wi-Fi was provided and there was good AC/heating. The beach was a 2 min walk away with private access so it wasn’t too crowded and there was a pub/ restaurant right next to it with live music. Plenty of things to do in the area, swimming, hiking, biking, kayaking. We also drove up to Saratoga Springs only 30 mins away. Definitely a great experience would go...
