Norsdale — Hotel in Town of Shandaken

I rented the Norsdale House and 4 Motel rooms for a retreat and we had a really wonderful experience. The Norsdale Team were extremely helpful with all of the local planning, including making connections to locals who were able to help us with grocery shopping and other logistics we needed for the group.

The main house is beautifully decorated and we were able to fit our group of 10 into the living room and dining room for all of our group sessions and meals. The house has 5 bedrooms upstairs and each bedroom is spacious. Because it is an older house the walls are thin so there is some sound between the rooms, but nothing more than any other house.

The 4 motel rooms are very dramatic! Each are decorated in a bold color and I really liked them. The big perk is that for anyone who wants more privacy they are independent units with their own bathrooms.

The house has a great outdoor space including a hot tub and is super close to the main street. The area does not have great cell service but the house has really strong wifi that worked even when all 10 of us were using it which was perfect.

I stayed here with a large group over Presidents day weekend 2025. This was the perfect lodge. The motel rooms are amazing, each with a different colour scheme (I stayed in the pink room!). The main house is very spacious, with enough room for the group (only two bathrooms for 5 bedrooms).
