Adorable old fashioned motel in a not so touristy lake town. The motel had a "grandma's house" feel to it. With cozy wooden front porch and wooden log themed furniture. ||The owner was friendly and genuine and the price was reasonable. ||For the nature lovers...The motel had a slight lake view from a handful of spots on the second floor and there was a babbling brook in the back that you could hear through the open window. ||The room was clean, but outdated and had everything we needed - a small microwave, mini fridge and cable TV. (Actually fridge didn't work). Basic toiletries were provided such as soap and shampoo. I don't recall seeing a hair dryer, so be aware that you may need your own. One word of caution is that there is no air conditioning. This wasn't an issue for us because the night was cool, but the owners are thoughtful enough to include a fan with each room. ||We stayed here only briefly on the way to Lake Placid so I can't say much about the surrounding area. There was a restaurant / bar just down the road, but we opted for a few snacks from the nearby IGA.||Overall I really enjoyed my stay. It felt like staying in a cozy home instead of a sterile hotel. The only downside is that there was no pool. There are other cute motels just a few more minutes down the road that had them. This place had an empty pool, that if they fixed up would probably make this motel more competitive with its neighbors. ||If you are looking for some charm and a no-frills budget-friendly lodging, I highly recommend this...

The Suites are beautiful, #1 has a cozy fireplace and everything you need for a Honeymoon Stay. #2 has a king size bed and a full kitchen just what you need if you are a Bear or a Lumberjack. There are 6 smaller cabin style cozy rooms with 2 double beds, microwave and à fridge. |Service is always friendly and they are there when you need them.||Bottom line you still can't beat the price. The most expensive accommodation at this time is an apt. at...
Read moreThe owner was very nice. The rooms were nice sized. Everything was clean except for lots of dead critters in the window sills. Some of the outlets did not work and we had to unplug the TV to plug in the refrigerator. It could use more working plugs in the room and better lighting. Two of the people in my party had the shower stop working in the middle of their shower. The water pressure was very poor. I would have to say as lodging goes, it was only ok. We stayed for the night and moved on. I would probably look for a more up to date place to...
