I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a non-traditional hotel experience in the Adirondacks.||||The quaint chalets convey the feeling of seclusion while having all amenities and actually being quite centrally located (20 mins to Whiteface Mt peak, 30 mins to Lake Placid town, and 5 mins from a supermarket in Wilmington).||||Each of the chalets is a separate cabin with a nice wooden decor inside and beautiful lighting outside. There is a mini porch with seating outside, and also a firepit area where you can have a bonfire if you have a large group.||||If you let Robert know in advance, the keys can be left inside your chalet so there is no need for a check-in. He is also helpful and responsive by email or phone.||||We had the "Cedar" one-bedroom chalet, which is perfect for a party of three (a fourth could use the sofa bed). The rooms don't have air-conditioning, but a gas fired heater can be controlled via thermostat and keeps the place toasty. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was slightly small but sufficient. Though there is a popular restaurant on the premises (it opens for dinner after 5 PM), there is virtually no noise that reaches the chalets besides the sounds of nature at night. It truly feels like staying inside of the woods.||||There is an upright grill outside, which you can use if you fetch wood/charcoal, both of which are available at the supermarket. There is also a fireplace with instructions inside the room, though we did not have time to use it.||||The chalets are cleaned out once a day and towels are replaced, though soap/shampoo is not provided so it is advisable to get your own.||||The only one issue with the place is that while phone networks are understandably spotty, even the WiFi is extremely hard to get a connection for. So its better to download offline Google Maps for the area in advance.||||Overall, we paid $135 a night for a great weekend during fall (the area seems to be hitting peak reds during the second week of October), and would consider it great...
Read moreI rarely write reviews but am hoping to warn others about our experience. We stayed in the 'spruce' cabin from 6/18/22-6/20/22. We specifically booked this cabin because it had a kitchen. We arrived to find that there was no heat and the stove/oven was not working. When we called/texted with Yann and Robert. I was told they knew about the stove and the text I got about the heat was "well it was working...". They did get the heat working after a few hours (really thanks to the housekeeper Michele) but we didn't have a stove/oven for the entire trip. They did provide a hot plate that was too small to heat the pots/pans that they had in the cabin and there was no place in the kitchen to set it. We ended up with spoiled food because I simply couldn't bake the food we had brought or cook anything that required a flat pan. Common sense and decency would be to inform us before we arrived. I would have brought my camp stove or changed what food we had packed. I received no response to this being an issue until I got a text asking if I'd be checking out on time and where to leave the keys.||||Even more concerning, the front step was broken and the board came completely up. I went flying. Luckily I caught myself on the railing and only ended up with a nasty bruise on my leg. Thankfully it wasn't my 18 month old. When I told them about this (mind you I was 7 months pregnant at the time) I was asked to send pictures to an email address, which I did. I received no further response from them via email or phone even after I contacted them again. ||||Others staying on the same weekend said their tub didn't drain and that their microwave didn't work, so it seems like upkeep is a systemic issue. ||||The cabins could be cute, but they don't keep them up. And based on their responses/lack of response they clearly don't care about your experience during your stay. I wish they had taken time to address the issues. Wilmington was a lovely place, but we'll be staying elsewhere next...
Read moreThis is a beautiful, rustic without roughing it, cabin accommodation in Wilmington. A huge thank you to Michelle and Yann-I informed them it was our third wedding anniversary and they gifted us a bottle of wine to celebrate! We also were offered an extra night at a special reduced rate which we took advantage of to extend our long weekend stay. Both of these thoughtful gestures helped set this inn apart from others in a big way.
The cabin interior was perfect for us - two very comfortable queen beds, spacious living area with sofa plus a large table, large bathroom and little kitchen type area with a roomy mini fridge, microwave and keurig coffee maker(with dunkin k cups, sugar and cream). The cabins are located a good distance from the road, with ample space between each unit- so you feel like you have the place to yourself. All are surrounded by beautiful large pines which creates the feeling of being immersed in nature without being far from the amenities in town. The wood burning fireplace in the living area was so lovely, we made good use of it during the cold nights. Firewood is available on site. Rates are very reasonable, even during a holiday weekend. The location is convenient to both the town of Wilmington, Whiteface Memorial highway, Whiteface mountain resort and Lake Placid is about 12 minutes away for additional dining and shopping needs.
If you are looking for a quaint, comfortable, wooded and private accommodation in Wilmington, this is the best place in the area.
We will be coming back to stay in the winter for some snowboarding at nearby Whiteface! Thank you so much Yann and Michelle for helping make our anniversary getaway special. See...
