I have never written a bad review about a place but unfortunately I have a horrible story. I booked a 3 bedroom condo in July for our family annual ski trip for Christmas. My wife and I booked this trip with the knowledge that we could not cancel under any circumstances so we booked the trip and paid it in full. Fast-forward to December my wife gets a call from Summer the person in charge of the booking company. Well guess what she had to say? I'm sorry for calling you but we need to cancel your reservation because the owner has an emergency and needs the condo that week yep Christmas week the busiest week of the year. Well my wife said you're joking right? Unfortunately I'm not she replied. My wife just hung up the phone and called me and said this is what's going on. I replied this is insane and they can't do that so then I called back to speak with Summer. She explained to me that they can cancel at any time and that's their policy. I then told her that was inexcusable and that they need to find me another place since they are cancelling my condo. Well that was another problem since Christmas is the busiest week of the year. She gave me two options one was I can get a 2 bedroom condo for a shorter time and different dates since everything is booked or they can get another condo down the mountain down the mountain that we would have to drive daily not a ski-in ski-out like we rented. So this the fix they offered me! I explained that's inexcusable again and that I have already gotten airfare, car rental, ski rentals, ski lessons, even made reservations for restaurants. Everything is non refundable even my condo that I rented. Unfortunately if you guys are looking for a place to stay I'd definitely consider somewhere else.    Read moreWe have cancelled several trips (like everyone else) this year because of Covid 19. Like many people in our area, Lake Tahoe is the perfect place to visit during a pandemic--a drive from home and the ability to get outdoors and be physically distant from others. We reserved a 3 bedroom which was actually 3.5 baths. We were a family of 8 (my family and my sister's family). From beginning to end, the interactions with staff were very helpful and professional. The property manager was extremely helpful during the reservations process as I had lots of questions. I found that booking direct instead of with VRBO or the like would ensure a better cancellation policy (much better--privately owned were 30-60 days cancellation) and a more thorough, detailed cleaning procedure. We did not have daily cleaning (fine by us as this limited the people in our room and didn't put their employees at risk) but we could get linens as needed. There still was someone at the front desk to answer our questions. My husband and daughter found the Constellation Residences perfectly situated for mountain biking. We prepared breakfast and lunch in the residence and got dinner to go a few times and at out (outside) a few times. Masks are required anytime you were in the common areas and hand sanitizer was abundantly available. We will definitely stay here again! We especially liked that we could travel with our small dog. Constellation Residences is comfortable and upscale, and it really "recharged" us to be in the beautiful area of Lake Tahoe...
   Read moreOur family spent a week at the hotel during Thanksgiving break. We had booked through the epic pass website to get their 20% discount. While there we asked to stay one more night. They charged us the full price but before we left they told us at the front desk they would revert the charges and pay us back the difference. Weeks passed and nothing. We called multiple times and initially told us to wait a month to see the credit on our credit card statement. December arrives and nothing. Finally talked to the manager there multiple times over phone and email and he said he would reverse it again. We’re now end of January and still nothing. This manager doesn’t return my calls anymore or responds to my emails. It’s really a shame that the reputation of that magnificent property is dirtied by such an incompetent manager.
