1st off the campground is nice and the bathrooms are VERY clean. Not a lot of shade even though there are tons of trees. Sites not close enough to lake if carrying stuff. *My disappointment with this campground was entirely regarding my disability and the way it was handled. I have a large family of 10. Each site you can ONLY have 8 people, so I reserved 2 disabled spots across the street from each other since I would be going back and forth from to each site in a wheel chair. Made my reservation on line with no problems. Got to the campground and was checking in only to be told that I cannot have 2 disabled spots because I am only 1 disabled person and it was supposedly illegal for me to take up both spots. I asked if we could just have all of us on one site since the handicap spot was bigger, plus 3 campers were under 10 yrs old. I was told absolutely not, that we would be fined. I made the reservation weeks in advance and had even called several times checking to make sure everything was okay with our reservation especially because of covid-19 stuff. Was told no problems each time. I explained that to them and 1 employee accused me of lying and she said they called us to tell us we couldn't have both spots. THEY CALLED THAT MORNING at 9am and left me a voice mail....which I didn't get because I didn't have signal at the time because we were on our way there. They also said they were being nice because technically they were supposed to kick us out and cancel both of our reservations. They would not budge. I didn't have a choice but to split our family up and have some of us at 1 site and some of us at another. The other location was not close to the disabled site. We had to split up snacks and coolers and for breakfast, lunch, and dinner we had to go back and forth. It made the trip extremely difficult for all of us. The most frustrating part was that there were SEVERAL other sites that had WAY more than 8 people. There was 1 site with 6 small tents and at least 15 people. They never got in trouble. Meanwhile, me being handicapped was told absolutely no more than 8 people. It's hard enough to camp with someone in a wheelchair, but to make us split up our family and supplies and making me have to go back and forth in my wheelchair was just just wrong. So my review is to warn those that are disabled. Might want to look somewhere else. Very disappointed with our trip. Rhonda Cobian...

Read moreGreat campground inside Donner Lake State Park. Spot 119 was a 26 ft spot so just enough to fit our trailer. Most spots are the same length so bigger rigs will not fit. This place is so beautiful and peaceful with trails to hike and Truckee right down the street. You have to check this place...
