First off, I met some truly nice people (guests) when I first arrived at the RV Park. I don't really leave a lot of reviews (usually speak with mgmt.) but felt compelled this time. I did speak with the woman who I believe is the supervisor, but not sure. We decided to stay for a couple of days and were told that they had wifi (which is part of the cost). This is extremely important because my husband works online. We have stayed at numerous RV Parks and usually find at places where it is a problem they give us a disclaimer. At this park they did not. It is considerably more expensive than other places we've stayed especially considering what we got for our money. We booked their campsite spot. Yes, it had septic and power (30), but no water or wifi. Other places for the price we would have at least full hook-ups. There was no grass but lots of dirt. However, all other rows did. The grill was no where in site (all others did). One of the showers was out of order also. Now, on to how it was handled. When asking about our Good Sam discount I mentioned the issue with the wifi and that unfortunately my husband had to drive to Starbucks (12 minutes away) and/or use data (at our expense). Her response was that there are wifi issues in the camp and that he could have used another network and just 'chilled' on the patio. First off, if you are paying for wifi and it doesn't work you should get a credit. Even more....they should not say they have it or use it as a selling point to get you to book there. Secondly, 'chilling' on a patio when it is almost 100° with a computer getting hot for 8 hours was NOT an option. Not sure any guest would think that was ok. Oh, and was the rest of the family supposed to hang out there too whenever we need to do something? Does that ring reasonable to you? What made it worse was the fact that while I went out to retrieve the credit card for the Good Sam credit she was speaking with another woman about me...in a not so nice way. Not a very professional response. No sorry for the inconvenience or way to try and make the CUSTOMER happy. If you want to take a rafting trip, grab gas (at least 30-50 cents inflated above the closest other station), are ok with paying more just to be near Truckee), or aren't planning to stay in your RV most of the day them it would probably work. If you have to work or need to have functional wifi you are better off staying somewhere else. Thanks for reading my feedback. Take it for what you feel it's worth. Hoping my experience helps someone else avoid the same mistake....
Read moreOverall the park is dirty and has the feel of a place not well-maintained. For that reason, I was surprised at how clean the shower facilities were. I soon found out why, though! The shower nozzles are designed to deliver an oval-shaped ring of water that sprays a very, very fine mist on your extremities and completely misses the main part of your body. It was very difficult to stay warm due to the poor water temperature (barely warm) and the very scant amount of water delivered. It is also almost impossible to clean anything below your waist because the water just simply will not hit your body anywhere close to your lower half. The showerheads are completely immoveable and non-adjustable and were obviously installed in this way to discourage anyone from using them. That's why the shower areas are so clean, no one uses them! I never saw another person in the showers or restrooms the entire time I was there. One of the shower/restroom facilities was kept at such a ridiculously low temperature it must have doubled as a meat locker. Luckily, I braved the shower only once and in the warmer of the two facilities offered. No view of the river from the park. Very close to the freeway and lots of freeway noise. On the plus side: nice staff and good deli with great...
Read moreGreat place, nice grounds, good community. No required year for Rv to stay. Lots of hiking fishing hunting exploring outdoor fun nearby, right across from the beautiful Truckee river and a hopeless skip and a jump from Boca stampede which has many campgrounds a pretty cool little tour hike of old town Boca and add well as a boat launch and last but not least a shooting range.. Oh I almost forgot to mention the great little store on sight that has cool fishing T-shirt's and an awesome sandwich shop a little tiny bit more expensive than your run of the mill but you can get just about everything there and they are the only store and get gas station around the office BTW best gas prices in the Truckee anytime area. I just recently purchased my fishing licence from the lovely and charming young lady who works there.. I would definitly reconvened this place not only because the people are nice and the grounds are beautiful. I they have clean restrooms and hot showers as well as tons of fun outdoor fun activities withing walking distance. I happy trails!! I love, light and respect to all! Be good...
