This place is great. We were stuck in a surprise blizzard and they got us a beautiful room at a very reasonable rate. The staff is friendly, the facilities and rooms are immaculate and very nicely appointed. I'm knocking off one star for no generator for power outages, but the room was so we'll insulated we were still comfortable the next morning. The manager gave us a discount for the inconvenience even without asking. The beds and pillows are incredibly comfortable, and if you want to sleep in the curtains easily block out all of the light. Each room includes a coffee maker & supplies, along with tea. The bathroom is clean and bright.

The Village at Pocono is definitely a home away from! A well hidden gem! Very clean, staff was very professional and courteous! My wife and I got the one bedroom and it was well supplied. Plenty of towels, wash clothes, pots, pans and dishes for the kitchen that was included. There's a lot of amenities including a pool, sauna, jacuzzi, game room with air hockey, a pool table and foosball table, exercise room. The Pocono Raceway is directly across the street so I'm sure it's a convenient stay for those interested in Nascar. We definitely plan on being back soon!

IF YOU ARE VACATIONING WITH KIDS- YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE. Looked forward to staying here because of the good reviews; however, we were VERY unhappy with our stay. my husband and I stayed here with our two children (ages 7 and 10). Both kids are very well behaved. As we were checking in, we were told that if our children used the pool, we had to be with them and closely supervised. It was said as though we were being lectured. Of course my children would never use the pool unsupervised.

As i changed in the one-room bathroom by the pool, my kids sat in a chair immediately outside the bathroom door. They were quietly seated. I then heard the front desk lady come out and scold them for being without an adult at the hotel. I came out and explained that we were just changing for the pool.

That night we asked to use the movie theater and despite the book showing no bookings, they did not want to allow us to use the theater. We asked the front desk lady to reserve it at 9pm and she responded that it would likely be too late for the kids to see a movie. We were on vacation and as their parents, let us decide what works for our kids.

The next day we had family, who also reserved a room, visit us while using the pool. The front desk lady came down and accused me of sneaking guests into the resort. My family never even entered the room that we were staying in. We then explained that they checked in the night before and I never even received an apology for the rude accusations she made.

The worst of the stay was the last day that we used the pool, the chlorine was so strong, we all left the pool area with very red eyes and had a cough. By time we got to the room our swimsuits were bleached! Several of us had a rash all over our body. I contacted the front office and they just replied that no one else complained- we were the only people in the pool for the several hours that we were there. They did refund for the bleached swimwear as I shown it to them. Our swim clothing were all ruined. My daughter developed a skin burn that got irritated and we had to go to the dr and get an antibiotic cream when we returned home. My husband and my legs were covered in a red rash. Our skin was irritated for days after. My cousins also experienced the same skin issues after using the pool.

We purchased the WiFi for our stay and it didn’t work at all. They told me it was my computer and not the WiFi even though it didn’t work on any device that we tried it on.

The hotel is clean but NOT recommended for families. The family in the room next to us told us they were lectured about their children as well. They said they wound up leaving the pool after the staff repeatedly complained about their children who were just playing in the pool and were not misbehaving.

To top it off, when we checked out, the manager told us we were welcome to come back but they preferred if we didn’t use the amenities as some older guests like to use the amenities without children running around. What?!?!? I would understand if my kids were misbehaving or we were a nuisance but we were very quiet and kept to ourselves. I typically stay in nicer resorts and have never experienced anything like this. Also their website even shows that they charge additional fees if you have someone under the age of 25 staying in the room.

My advice is don’t stay if you have children and don’t wear any nice swimwear in the pool if you don’t want it ruined. Also be prepared for very bad skin irritation and respiratory issues after using the pool.

overall, we were very unhappy with our stay. Attached our photos of the chemical burns and skin irritation from the hot tub and pool and also photos of my swimsuit that was ruined from the chlorine in...

The one bedroom villa we stayed in was honestly bigger than my apartment and it was CLEAN. I mean shockingly spotless. The kitchen came fully equipped with everything from baking pans to mixing bowls. We thought we wouldn't even touch them, but it was honestly really nice to warm a pastry up in the oven!

The movie theater was great, super comfy chairs. The Pool looked nice, but we didn't have a chance to test it out. The sauna was one of the cheap ones that you can buy for about a grand and put together yourself. Nothing wrong with it just extremely small to the point where you wouldn't get in if someone else was in there. They're also right inside the bathroom and have a window so you get to make eye contact with everyone that walks in the bathroom.

All in all, it was a decent stay, but there are some reasons I deducted a point. The pillows were very nice, but neither me or my partner found the bed to be comfy at all. While clean and huge, our villa was absolutely barren of any decoration. Having just basic furniture in such a big area made it feel felt sterile and empty, it sorta gave you the shivers.

Secondly, things seemed like they were constantly in need of repair or being patched together. The handicap showerhead would not stay up on its own. There were some cracks in the drywall in the ceiling and walls and a loose tile or two in the bathroom. Once we tried to go out the main gate and it would not open for us. We had to exit our vehicle and manually push a button to open it. Just little things that were constantly out of wack or slightly damaged.

Lastly, regarding wheelchair accessibility. They do everything by the book. That doesn't mean it's great though! The bathroom is plenty wide enough for a chair, but anything but a small frame wheelchair may not be able to get by the bed to get in the bathroom. You also need to roll right over the (very loose!) hvac vent to get there. The bed is very tall as well. Some wheelchair users may have difficulty or find it impossible to transfer that high. The shower chair did not seem sturdy and because of where it was mounted you could barely sit on it. I actually opted to sit on the floor of the shower instead just to feel safe.

All in all, a lot of our complaints came down to accessibility and personal preferences. I don't think we will be back unless we can't find another place, but that doesn't mean we didn't enjoy our time or others...

This was our first time staying here. We got the recommendation from a friend. Our family was very pleased with everything. We stayed in the 2br/2ba villa. The room was extremely clean when we walked in and fresh smelling. We had plenty of towels for our 5 night stay. We didn't even have to ask for more. There is plenty of closet space to store luggage or skiis. The pantry in the kitchen is large and has plenty of room to hold your crock pot or air fryer if you want to bring them. The kitchen had a regular 12 cup coffee pot (you need to provide your own filters for it), blender and toaster as well as all the plates, cups/glasses etc. you may need. The freezer also made ice which was a plus. We did use our stovetop twice while there but found only one burner worked out of four. It wasn't a biggie for us though. We brought dish towels and sponges and we are glad we did. They do provide a dish cloth and a bottle of dish soap to wash dishes and a drain board but it's small. We used the dish towel to dry our dishes. The showers are small but efficient. We noticed that the hot water did take a while to heat up but once it did, it was fine. I do wish they had more hooks in the bathroom. We managed though. There is plenty of space in the bedrooms. Bring your own pillows!!! The ones on the bed are flat as pancakes. The clubhouse is great! We had a blast playing ping pong, air hockey, fooseball and billiards while we were there. The pool was quiet and relaxing and set up very lovely. There is so also a small hot tub that can fit about 3 or 4 adults. We didn't use the gym or theater while we were there. The playground needs to be cleaned and maintained a bit better. There were some lose boards and big spiderwebs but I assumed many children do not play on it often. The area is so quiet. We saw deer on the grounds daily. You could hear some race cars on the track next door but it wasn't annoying. Overall this was a great place to stay. This is a very family friendly place to stay. If you are going to Kalahari, it's only 20 mins away and...
