Dollar General — Local services in Tunkhannock Township

Normally I would have given a higher rating but sorry to say not this time. We were up for vacation this week and stopped by with my children to pick up some things. While we were shopping, I was kneeling down looking at some toys for our kids in the summer toy isle and all of the sudden something hit the top of my head! A toy on an upper shelf had fallen off and split my head open. My wife went for help and the lady working there gave her paper towels to help with the blood on my head. Once I was able to stand up,I tried to use the restroom and it was locked and the same lady told me sorry management has it locked today. Are you kidding me, I'm bleeding! So we took the toy that hit me and she said well I guess we will have to throw it away, wow!! The clerk then said I should get some ointment to put on it and told us what isle it was in and damm she charged us for it. My wife then put in a complaint and have not heard a thing from anyone from Dollar General. And oh yeah, the clerk told us that the store was a mess because Nascar race was the day before. Really!! I will never shop there again!! Totally incompetent staff and...

I stop here sometimes while in the area. Every time I stop I wait. There is no line and no self checkout. There is no person to check you out either. This last time I waited for 10 mins and then put the stuff I picked back and left. I think 1 person works here now that the lady that did work here left and got a better job. There are so many dollar generals around yet almost all of them the self checkout is broken and the person that runs the register does multiple jobs. They must be making money to keep opening these stores yet they only have 1 or 2 people working at a time. 1 person should work up front and another stock the...

Often the prices on the shelves do not match the scanned prices, so often things ring higher at the register. I tried to tell the older lady clerk that my item scanned wrong and she tells me how they have not fixed the prices on the item... but then with an attitude for no reason tells me "Everything can't be free." Huh? Where did that come from? I had to tell her I don't want it for free.. Bad experience...
