This park as many in our country have seen a little rise in visitors over the past decade and add the pandemic droves and this park has changed alot. Over 3 million visiting compared to half that a decade earlier. This effects the first come campsites the most. Honestly Id love to tell you all to go somewhere else as I love this campsite. No Water and that goes for almost all campsites. Hidden valley has toilets and trash receptacles. the sites are decently private and most are pretty flat.||Our most recent trip had us setting up camp around noon on a Monday and we got our desired spot as only a handful of campers. When we came back at 4pm it was almost completely full.||This campground has a ton of boulders to climb and play on so definitely a fun spot for groups and climbers. Location next to some prime bouldering spots and top rope is rad!||||As always i want to leave my complaint which is the people visiting. Don't litter, don't get drunk and wander, please use...

This would get 5 stars if it wasn't for one major turn off which I'll get to at the end. It's an amazing campground. As someone who has been traveling for the past 6 months and has stayed at numerous national/state parks and campgrounds, HVC ranks among the best. Almost every campsite is spread out; there is a reasonable distance between each one. You get the most privacy you'll ever get outside of backcountry camping. If you like climbing you can walk minutes to any boulder and start your hike. That's where my problem lies with this campground. Several times have we had rude idiots walking non-chalantly through our campsite with no respect to our belongings and privacy. We stayed for days and this is a big concern during the weekend because you have the extra rude douchebags coming out and walking around like they own the place. You know the ones I'm talking about.

Anyway it's still a nice campground and I'd stay here again despite...

We were very lucky to find a campground here during the busy season since it's first come first served. Its $30 for park entry (good for seven days from purchase) plus $15/day for camping. There is no running water so remember to bring your own (1gal./day/person). Sanitary wipes and hand sanitizer are a must! The vault bathrooms have plenty of TP and are relatively clean but it doesn't hurt to bring your own. There are trash cans for trash and recycling as well but not at each campsite. Depending on your campsite you'll have a short walk to get to your nearest vault bathroom and trash/ recycling bins. Bring plenty of sunscreen and chapstick too. Warm clothes and a thick sleeping bag with an extra blanket or two will help you stay warm when the temperatures get really cold at night. Of you can also bring a pop-up copy to keep your picnic table cooler and other essentials out of the hot...

Hidden Valley campground is the First Park campground that charges a low nightly rate for a stay in one of the 41 individual private camp spots on a first come first serve basis. Plenty of room here for triple that amount if they ever felt so generous to bestow the privilege of using the space that God created for ALL American citizens and others to enjoy while we are alive here on Earth. But the staff are friendly and the bathrooms here are the cleanest and most pleasant bathrooms I have ever encountered in the United States. And the rates are reasonable, just think they could spread out the campsites more for everyone’s equal enjoyment. Mainly a Hardcore Rockclimber’s Paradise, everyone we saw camped here were bouldering as soon as the sun came up

Got here on a Friday night around 630pm and managed to get one of the last first come, first serve campsites available. The campsites are super close to each other so expect to hear every little noise your neighbors make. Some folks weren't really respectful about the 10pm quiet hours which is understandable since you're out under the stars and it doesn't get cooler until late at night in the summer. Slept with earphones on though since there was still a couple groups awake past 1am making noise. You can see a glimpse of the outline of the milky way which is beyond amazing. Great spot for the weekend.
