I️ enjoy many water areas around South Texas all the time and as often as I️ can. The waters at Chalk Bluff are just amazing. They are clear as glass and always very refreshing. The cabins have likely not been updated in a while but my cabin did have all the amenities one needs for living from shower and kitchen to beds and AC. Since the park is privately owned and not run by the Texas Parks Dept. It is up to the owners, workers and patrons of the park to clean up their own mess. This cleanup process is great with some visitors that will diligently clean their footprint and totally nonexistent with so many others. The park does provide a sack to you for your trash, but sadly so much trash still ends up in the river. So many families take their picnic into the shallow water under canopies to beat the heat. This is where empty cans and bags are forgotten as they are emptied and later pollute the clear waters. As you swim and enjoy the wonder of the bluff, you can also enjoy the leftover remnants of picnics from months prior. When you visit this rough gem in South Texas, take an extra bag so you can pick up your neighbor’s trash. Sometimes it takes a village. In this village so many villagers are waiting for someone else to clean up after them. (You can see in the photo where someone’s canopy was damaged so they just left it)

Cabin Rowdy was nice, a bit of a walk to the river, but it was nice to walk. Ppl were friendly, and the water felt amazing!Bought a bag for the mining experience and got a lot of neat stones, fossils, and shark's teeth. Grandson loved it.

Was at Chaulk Bluff Park today and I spent almost a$100 just to get into the park. I would expect a nice and clean establishment considering the amount they charge per person and the line of people waiting to pay to get in. The water look great but the establishment and restrooms look like they haven't been clean in years. Come on people... you make a shit ton of money, you can at least make your lodging and facilities more...

This place is amazingly beautiful! The cabins are a bit rough but your camping. Bring your own cleaning supplies and bedsheets. You might want to take an extra portable lamp just incase the lights in the bathroom are dim. They have a hayride that drives you by the petting zoo. Kids will love it there! The flies are big and pesty. But the water is super clear!!! I have been here more than 5 times and we plan on...
