Booked a double queen room. Checked in at 5, went to room and only one bedroom. Go back to lobby and no one is there call front desk for 5 minutes. Finally try other "front desk" number get an answer. No one has been in lobby since.
Here's what there isn't that every site advertises: Internet 24 security, or any security personnel period Someone working the front desk, or any employee of any type working, for most hours of the day (this isn't advertised but generally presumed no?) Room service (in fact the phones aren't plugged in to anything Keycards (you will get one key with a big metal square attached. They don't have multiple keys for bookings with more than 1 guest There are no amenities of any type such as horseback riding, hiking, nor even a flower in a pot to call a "garden area". Manners I only mention this because the proprietor appears to be the sole person who works here, and because it's the hospitality industry, but his English is very limited and it makes communication difficult to impossible beyond short phrases beyond "no internet" "no more key" etc. This limited ability to communicate mqy be partly to blame for the above seeming poor manners but the annoyance and contempt in his voice and face when I said I'd book two beds and only had one, and his hostility when I didn't accept his reply I booked a one bed room suggests otherwise. When he finally agreed to come to the lobby to prove i booked one room (this was conducted over phone to this point) and after refusing to look at my own reservation found it in his paper work to his credit he did immediately admit yes, two beds and gave me the appropriate room key and accompanying pocket busting metal plate key ring.
What there is: Rooms seem clean, first room smelled of mildew but otherwise clean, second smelled fine The bathroom fixtures and and furniture seems new and is nice....
Read moreSuprisingly decent accomodations but horrendous customer service. Check in was quick and easy, we were given the keys to room 106 and made our way there. The room was in rough shape and also two singles instead of the queen we had reserved. Cigarette holes in the sheets, dubious large yellow stains. We returned to the front desk to ask for some new sheets. He seemed confused and told us he'd meet us back here. After about a few minutes he was at our window gesturing wildy. We opened the door, and he was furious. We had rolled back the sheets undoing both the beds to inspect them, as I think most sane human beings would do after check-in at sub 100 dollar room. He was furious. Shouting that we had gone into the wrong room. Despite him being the one to give us they key, which was marked 106. He continued to rant and complain about us undoing his pee stained sheets as he exchanged our key for the correct rooms. He escorted us to the correct room and demanded there would "be no more complaining." Shockingly the other room was much cleaner. Leading me to believe the initial room had not been cleaned and just wasn't ready or something. Nearly Spotless sheets. Definitely no signs of bed bugs like other reviews have suggested. The bathroom was also very nice. Roomy shower. Didn't seem to experience the problems with hot water others had according to reviews. It was genuinely very lovely and I've stayed at red roof inns that cost 50 dollars more and haven't been nearly as well maintained. Just you know , make sure the owner of the establishment gives you the right key so he doesn't yell...
Read moreWe’re an LGBTQ+ couple traveling for work, we checked in late at night and we’re informed that checkout was at 10:30 (our booking confirm said 11:00, but we didn’t have the energy to argue at 12:30 at night, so we let that slide). Got to the room, it is bare bones, the bed just had sheets and a thin coverlet (inappropriate given how cold it is this time of year) and two pillows that were dead flat. From the dirt and dust gathered in the corners, it was obvious that the room hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned between guest stays. Shower worked, but the interior showed signs of mold, so that was a little gross.
But the biggest issue we had was that the owner and his wife decided to start cleaning out rooms at 9 am (after giving us direction that checkout was 10:30), and he tried to walk into our room! I was dressing at the time, and my partner was showering, and if the chain hadn’t been on the door, he would have just barged straight in! I yelled out “Excuse me!” and he shut the door, but the damage was done. Stay ruined. The owners have no “Do Not Disturb” signs, and felt that a simple apology was sufficient for the fright that it caused us. We paid $126 for a dirty room, poor sleep, and to have our...
