So, we stayed at Hudson Old Mill during friendship..
A little background of how we ended up at old mill... we called the market number, and told us to go ahead and go on up the hill after we told her what we had, and said come down the next morning and check in.. This was a mistake. We had big issues getting up there, then once we were there, music playing all night so loud, it overpowered our generator. Coming up, it was so tight, we had to drive all around the 3rd level to go up the hill, and almost fried our transmission cause I couldn't get it into 4 low.. then had insane issues trying to level.. so the next morning, we packed immediately back up, and drove back down the hill across town to Old Mill . Keep in mind, I literally work at another campground with spaces so tight, you have 2 to 3 feet between campers, and this road up there was TIGHT (03 F250 and a 27' TT)
After driving across town, to Hudson Old Mill, That's where this lovely welcoming friendly faces came in..
Super easy and simple to pull in, though the initial road to the gatehouse is a bit tight if you're not approaching head-on. The lady at the gatehouse was an absolute gem – her kindness completely turned our trip around! I even gave her a hug before we left to thank her. The campground offers basic electric hookups, ice, also has showers, and laundry facilities. Keep in mind it's in a flood plain, but overall, it's a simple, easy campground with a great owner. Being able to back right up to the water was fantastic, and it's definitely well worth the value!
We will only be at Hudsons...
Read moreWe love camping here during the NMLRA shoot. We also set up as vendors selling tie dyes, leathers, and handmade native American jewelry. I've been coming to this campground for 30 yrs through 3 owners. The new owners have a few kinks to figure out, like the timing of emptying the only 2 port-a-pots in the campground and getting the trash emptied once it is full. But besides those things, they are doing an awesome job! Maybe putting up more port-a-pots and putting out more trash receptacles throughout the campground would help keep everything clean and take the pressure off of everyone going up to the bath house to use that instead of the full port-a-pots. That's just my 2 cents. I'll continue to come here to see all of my favorite people in the world for...
