We were traveling for work. Needed a reservation for only one night booked it with our Choice Hotels accounts earlier in the morning around nine. Spoke directly with Choice Hotels representative who books the reservations for this location asked specifically about ES/SD. To make sure there were not any issues prior to checking in. Was informed by the reservations Clarion Inn that if we had all proper documents for my ES/SD dog who is under 25 lbs that the fees for her would be waved. However; this was not the case when we arrived to check in for the evening to relax and catch up on computer work. Brittany whos name tag says she is guest service associate acted in an unprofessional manner. We arrived about fifteen minutes after three in the afternoon. Proceeded to checkin was charged for the room and after doing so Brittany then brought up the additional charges such as a non refundable fee of fifty dollars for my ES/SD animal. We explained what we were told by the reservation team. Brittany was not willing to confirm with their reservation team nor did she even try to make any effort for reasonable accommodations solution as guest service on site. Brittany stated fees would not be waved at this location. Therefore; she then questioned if we had called this location, and we did. Showed her the call log and the number we dialed. She abruptly said that was not the number to this location. Without any reason she reversed the charges as my husband had to call himself to see why he was giving wrong information when booking. Brittany made this experience unpleasant and upsetting. When asked her name she proceeded to pop her shirt where her name tag was pinned. She also made a several snied comments. So I honestly believe that they tell you what you need to just to get the reservation booked then once you arrive they change it up on people. Make sure you read all the fine print of everything before you arrive for check in.

Terrible, TERRIBLE! First off, there was a rat in my room after 3 days of staying in there. The rat was huge and I’m pretty sure it was brought it by the housekeepers because they are dirty. Two front desk workers Latisha, Steven, and the foreign housekeepers are the worst to ever service me. Steven is a miniature size idiot. He barely understands how to run a hotel and he’s just a pathetic example of a man. The house keepers are foreign and lack the intelligence to use English language. They break policy but will report you if you do anything. They entered my room without me being there even though I was checked in. They told me I was required by policy to have my do not disturb sign up. One of them looks like a man and doesn’t even understand English. Latisha is childish, lazy, and rude. Her attitude is very poor and pretended to be kind while being subtly disrespectful. Latisha is a sorry excuse for a black woman. She thinks she can flirt with guest then try to lie about being desired. She lied to police out of anger and because she is ugly and bald headed. I was escorted out of the hotel because she claimed I harassed her and refused a room change. She lied about that. I never harassed her and I was escorted from the new room because there was a rat in the old one. The police claimed I did no crime and I left without any difficulty. Watch out for these staff members. They fear termination but may have lied to keep their pathetic 2-star hotel careers. Although, I had a tough time, I received a compensation of 40,000 Choice points and they are investigating this experience for me. I win, they lose.

UPDATE Since I am unable to respond to the auto generated response from my review. I will respond this way. You are not making any changes to address the issues we had. Not to mention, even if you did, we would never be coming back, so this does not help us. Also, I just called and found out that the deposit we had to put down, which was never mentioned before, takes 2 weeks to come back to us. That is just crazy!! If a real person from the hotel would like to reach out to me instead of AI, that would be great. I have a lot more to say!

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Me and my family do not travel often, so when we do, we hope for a good experience. The staff and manager were very rude and not willing to listen or help in anyway. There was an event booked the night of our stay and we had no knowledge of this. Music and screaming so loud you couldn't enjoy time in room and then so late that our young children and in-laws could not get to sleep till very late. We had to be up early the next morning to head to our destination and it made for a very rough and unpleasing morning. When I called down to get information on when this event would end as our rooms were facing to the event, the young man who answered was unwilling to assist in any way. He basically told me to deal with it and good luck trying to complain about it the next day. This is when I got frustrated as he hung up on me at this point. No apology or an attempt to see how they could resolve this or get any information for us. The next morning, when we went to check out, I spoke with the young lady at the front desk. She was literally the only bright spot of this stay. She was honest with me and empathetic. She told me she couldn't do anything herself and to speak with her manager the next day, Leticia. Let me tell you, speaking with Leticia was an experience for sure. She already was made aware of me calling by the young man and the truth was definitely not told to her. She started the call with an attitude and already had her mind set on not being helpful or understanding at all. She basically stated that it was my fault, not the young mans, and that I was lying about the interaction. She started getting attitude and having a smart mouth with me. She was not going to help. I was just asking for a little retribution for our stay, and she said they would not entertain the idea, and in my opinion, blamed me for our bad experience. She said that all of their guests know about the event center when they get a room. First off, we live 3 hours away and are definitely not aware of this. Secondly, no where on the website was there a place for us to see they have events near the rooms and that an event was scheduled that night. Third, no notification or heads up from the staff via email or in person regarding this event. Absolutely no way for us to know this information or any willingness to inform us either. Now, for all of the other issues. Non-smoking hotel with the smell of marijuana everywhere. No elevator in the hotel which made it very difficult for my 95 year old father-in-law to get around. Open rooms were available on 1st floor, but would not entertain the idea of switching rooms. Television had very few working channels. Parts of the walls had peeling wall paper. My youngest son left his weighted stuffed bear that he sleeps with for comfort. We know it was left, and Leticia acted like it was a burden that I asked if they found it. She told me she would have to talk with staff if they found it, but she doesn't think so. We know it is there but she did not seem sympathetic at all regarding this. Just an overall terrible experience. I will never use them again in any location that we travel. Worst staff and hotel...
