Upon arriving I was not sure what to expect. The entry to the office consists of sort of a mud room with a key return box in it. But the young lady at the front desk was very sweet although she seemed a bit distracted when I arrived.||||I believe the hotel has 3 main areas with rooms. My room was toward the back in the 2 story building. There were a couple of old looking gas grills outside, but there were also flowers planted that made for a nice appearance. The inside of the room was somewhat spartan -- a large area and a cozy looking bed. The young lady had warned me that the room would probably smell of Lysol from when she had cleaned it earlier that day, and it did. ||||When I walked across the room the first thing I noticed was the creaky floor. Obviously this is an older property that had been given a cosmetic makeover. But the TV worked, the bathroom fixtures were in good shape, and there was a microwave. The area above the sink appeared to be unfinished and old, but there were signs of TLC all around: A basket with extra washcloths, to be used to clean grime (probably intended for the energy industry workers who stay there), a couple of complimentary bottles of water, a package of microwave popcorn, and a granola bar. As I really didn't feel like exploring the eating places in town I appreciated having the popcorn and granola bar.||||Once in awhile I could hear somewhere upstairs walking across their creaky floor, but for the most part it was quiet. And I slept great. ||||Looking back, with Covid going on I probably paid too much for this room, but I was happy to give this...

Read moreI stayed here for 2 nights a few days apart at the end of July and the beginning of August 2022. The actual lodging is pretty good. Everything was clean and worked although not terribly fancy but I wasnt expecting that either for the price and location. The real deal is Greg and his wife. They are very nice, good people. My bike wouldn't start after my second night stay and Greg ended up helping me get it running even though he was clearly very busy. I would have literally been stranded there if not for Greg and his wife. Cheers to you both!
Follow up: I stayed here again. 356 days later. I bought a car and was driving it home. I had hoped to make it to Casper but it got dark and I got scared of hitting wildlife on my first day of ownership. There are so many other reviewers who have snow or vehicle stranded or vehicle wrecked or no other option stories. It seems to me, this place is critical infrastructure. Location? 1 or 5? Is it the middle of nowhere or the middle of everywhere? I say, 5, middle of everywhere. BTW, I came in late and Abigail was awesome. I was able to get a 1 bed suite with cool, motorhead decor and a very, well done,...
