Have seen lots of reviews saying how expensive this hotel was but its is comparable, or even less expensive than hotels or lodges closer to Jackson Hole, so value is decent for what you get. On the positive side, it is right at the south exit of Yellowstone, so you don't have to drive another hour into Jackson to decompress from the crowds in the park. We had a two bedroom cabin and it was spacious and clean. There is no TV but the wifi worked well. There is also no air conditioning and we were there in mid July, so it was 85 degrees. We opened our windows and had no issues with the heat. The cabins are a short walk to the river and a very short drive to some small natural hot springs. All the staff were nice and helpful. ||Some things to be aware of...The restaurant at the lodge is the ONLY one within an hours drive, so it is pricey. It is set more like fine dining and there are not a ton of options on the menu. The first night we were there, we got to the restaurant when it opened at 5:30 and had a pleasant (although expensive) dinner. The second night we were there, we waited until 6:30 to go to the lodge and ended up waiting 45 minutes to get seated. The kitchen was really bogged down and it was another 45 minutes to get our food. I would recommend getting to the restaurant early, there are no other options. ||The other issue I had, which isn't really the hotels fault, but still something to be aware of is that the lodge is in the Teton National Park. If you drive to Jackson and return, you will be charged a park entry fee just to get...
Read moreI decided to give them a one instead of none star only because the staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. We arrived at the lodge around five o'clock, checked in, left our bags in the room with two queen beds, etc... We were very pleased at the appearance of the room. We then left for Yellowstone returning after midnight exhausted from the long day of traveling. Getting ready for bed we were disappointed when we pulled the sheets back to find that someone deliberately did not been change the bedding. One bed with hair and crumbs, and hair and a green contact lens in the other bed. We called the front desk and spoke with the night manager. We explained our situation and since there was no housekeepers available that night and she was the only person there we asked for clean sheets. A security person brought us two sheets, pillow cases and blankets that we put over the bedding so we could sleep that night. The next morning we discovered that the coffee maker and microwave had not be cleaned. We called the front desk twice to request a call from the manager who never returned the calls. At checkout we asked to speak with the general manager who was not available. He did contact us when we were not available. I have called multiple times since then and have yet to hear from the general manager. Three nights cost nearly $1000 and that's without a complimentary breakfast. We stayed at five other hotels while on our trip. They cost third as much, the rooms were clean, and had a complimentary breakfast. Could not have been more...
Read moreStaff were very friendly, room was clean, and we barely heard the other guests. My wife and I stayed in a Deluxe Cabin with 2 queen beds. It was just like a hotel room and had a microwave, mini-fridge, blow-dryer, towels, extra blankets, two rocking chairs, bathroom with tub/shower; and dispensers for lotion, hand-soap, body-soap, shampoo, and conditioner. There were also two free ice-machines nearby. The cabin is built like a condo: you share a wall with one other guest-room but otherwise have the building to yourself. They say you have a view of the river, but they mean you have a view of the river valley and the trees that have grown up to block view of said river. Still, the river is walking distance for fishermen. The lodge and cabins aren't actually in Grand Teton, but they are ~20 minutes outside it, sandwiched between Grand Teton and Yellowstone (just 5 min away) in an area that is maintained by the NPS. Although most of the popular activities for both parks are an hour+ drive away, we found this location ideal for visiting both parks. The parks are very large, so you're going to have long drives to almost any activity, unless you're staying right at that particular activity i.e. Jenny Lake or Colter Bay. The cost was expensive, but competitive with all other options when we booked. Many services were shut down due to COVID-19 during our stay, but the gas station and convenience store were open, and the restaurant was open for...
