We dined at Sheffield's on two separate days. We had the buffet breakfast on Monday at 7am and a dinner on Wednesday at 7:15/8:15 pm. We were very pleased with the decor and atmosphere in the Headwaters Lodge and Sheffield's. The breakfast buffet had biscuits and gravy (excellent), french toast (dry), bacon, sausage(excellent), scrambled eggs (no thanks), assorted pastries and breads (yum), oatmeal, granola, yogurt, cottage cheese, fruit and a few other things. We ordered lattes from the coffee bar which were pretty good. Overall, it was a good option and decently priced ($22 for adults). For dinner, we basically tag teamed it as we didn't want our pooches to be alone in our camper. I ordered the bruschetta ($13) and a side order of smokey bacon mac n cheese ($5)- both were delicious. My son had a 1/4 lb cheeseburger and fries (curly potato wedges) off if the kids' menu ($9). Our water was topped off several times. I left a really good tip knowing that my husband and stepdaughter would have the same table and waitress. This is where it all goes wrong. The waitress brought the bar menu to the table (which has less offerings- more of a lunch menu) instead of the dinner menu and didn't bring the cocktail menu. I was positive my husband would have ordered the trout or a steak. He had a bison taco salad. My stepdaughter would have had the loaded mac n cheese but had the side mac n cheese and an appetizer instead. They had no idea that they were given the wrong menu until they saw that the next table had steaks brought out. We ate out 2 times on a 7 day trip and this was supposed to be a special dinner. Instead it was a letdown as far as some of the service goes and there's really no fixing it. The problem is that the bar menu has the same cover as the restaurant menu but the restaurant menu has an additional page. Maybe they should make it a different color? Also, the menus posted online are not current. There are a few different items and...

We stayed in one of the cabins and had two meals here.

The first one was a late lunch at the bar upon arrival. The restaurant was closed but we were told we can get food at the bar. 1 star for being open and having food. That was about the only thing good about the place. Overpriced $22 burger, very mediocre. But the worst part was service. They had the bartender handling food orders, he was very rude. Not just to us, there were 2 other parties there and they received the same treatment (at least he’s consistent). I got scolded for folding the menu. I asked for a side of chicken with my entree, he started arguing with me (this would have been for my 4.5 year old. I’ve been ordering her a side of grilled chicken for 4 years because I don’t need her to have a pound of French fries that the kids menu offers, this was the first time that a restaurant insisted that I had to order salad if I wanted to add the chicken). But even all that aside (let’s suppose the chicken thing is restaurant policy and the menus shouldn’t really be folded), his demeanor was jsut rude. Very unpleasant experience.

We didn’t want to cook in the morning so we went back for breakfast. A whole different experience. This time the restaurant was open. 5 stars. Polite and very pleasant staff. My breakfast burrito was delicious. Yea, $18, but at least it came with flavor and great service.

I’ll actually happily bump the rating up to 4 as soon as management acknowledges this review. That bartender simply needs training in guest...

Ate here for dinner after a long day hiking. My party of four was quoted a 15 minute wait when only half (if even) the tables were occupied. We put in our food orders as soon as we met our waiter. Ordered three burgers and a taco salad. It took over an hour to see our food arrive to our table. My husband and I bit into our burgers (we both ordered medium), and mine was actually cold, and his was medium rare at best. My husband's side salad was also served warm, like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. We didn't see our waiter for a bit, but when we did we asked if they could please fix our burgers. Our waiter obliged and suggested newly cooked burgers served in to-go containers because he knew the wait had been awhile. He went back to the kitchen, and came right back out to grab our plates from us. We figured the chef just wanted to see the cook temperature or whatever. Instead of newly cooked hamburgers, they reheated our partially eaten burgers, and served us those. Pretty disappointing considering the prices. They ended up comping us the price of one burger. Save your money, and try a different restaurant...

We stayed at Flagg Ranch 3 days so we wound up eating at Sheffield's twice. First night we ate in the bar area. We ordered wings and the beef, elk, and bison chili. The wings had good flavor but were luke warm at best. The chili was downright cold (although again a good flavor). Service was extremely slow and we couldn't flag anyone down to help remedy the cold food problem. The second night there were 11 of us. They had a lot of problems handling a large party. I ordered the ribeye medium rare and it came out rare and cold. I did send this back and the waiter admitted there had been a mixup and they served me a frozen steak. (So beware). Others in our group shared a meal only to learn at the time of payment there was an $8 charge for a shared plate (and all they received was an extra side). Parties of 8 do get a gratuity added to the bill - but it is not on the itemized bill - only the credit card receipt - with a blank line for more tip - so beware.

I was a little worried because I was staying at Headwaters Lodge for 4 nights, and this is the only restaurant there or anywhere within 20 minutes. I came once for breakfast and once for lunch/dinner. Breakfast: they have the coffee shop essentials. I had an oat milk latte which was solid, strong, and good quality. They have a buffet and a la carte options. The frittata was decent, a little mild on flavor, but the potatoes helped make the plate more exciting. It was a very satisfying portion. Lunch/dinner: I had the wild game burger and a side salad w/ a tasty huckleberry vinaigrette. The burger was phenomenal and far exceeded my expectations. Service was fast and great both times. My lunch server was helpful and honest about his recs. The place has a spacious dining room, no reservations needed, and I never saw it completely full. This isn't just another throwaway lodge restaurant; I can tell they take pride in their food and service.

The restaurant was great, the best food and experience in the whole Grand Teton/Yellostone area. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner and we liked what we had in all three occasions. The trout and elk medallions were pretty good. I also tasted a local beer (Snake River Ale) that was decent. The best was in the dessert. The S'mores Brownie is the best my wife and I ever had in our lives. Picture attached. Pretty special. For breakfast, they had buffet (which my wife liked) and I had the Mountain Platter (maybe not the exact name) which was a huge tasty meal for $15. Awesome bang for the buck. Service was also good. Specially, I want to give a shout out to Madeleine. She went out of her way to entertain our baby and allow us to enjoy our breakfast while our baby enjoyed his time with her. If you stay at Headwaters or if you just drive in between the parks, I recommend to have a meal here for sure.
