First I would say that the front desk service was good. He switched us from the 2nd floor to first because my husband would have difficulty carrying his things up and there are no elevators. Thank you. BE AWARE: Very old place! It shows in multiple ways including bathroom sink with rust on drain stop and old, pitted fixtures. If you need hair conditioner, bring it. Only shampoo and soap are provided. Unlike the last nights Super 8 stay. That one furnished shampoo, conditioner, lotion and makeup remover. Our room on the first floor smelled very badly of pet urine. I noticed too late, this was an issue a month ago and owner replied they would look into it. This hotel charges pet fees which don't seem to be getting used to take care of pet issues. Other hotels I've been in have carpet free pet rooms. I paid more than I got. $$$ last night I stayed in a comparable sized town in Columbus. It was a Super 8. Beautiful, up to date, clean, nice amenities, separate dining room (this one has dining counter and small tables at the check in desk), also much, much newer place, odor-free rooms, and new-like beds with current decor. I am more than disappointed to be paying total 102 and change for this place. Last nights beautiful Super 8 experience in Columbus was 92 and change total. By comparison, I would expect to pay total 70.00 for the privilege of staying here IF they had a room free of pet urine. SHAME ON YOU OWNERS for not using appropriate methods of caring for this stinky problem which clearly has happened to other customers. PLEASE don't respond with lip service. JUST fix this so another poor customer doesn't suffer the same discomfort! It is YUCK. Most reviews posted do not mention this problem so at least not all your rooms smell. If you don't fix the smell, please don't rent the pet rooms to non pet-owners. It...
Read moreThey were incredibly rude and overcharged us by 1 night. We had 2 dogs with us that are still training and I understand the problems that they come along with but we paid the required pet deposit for that reason. After paying the amount due for 3 days of stay here on the second day we were asked to leave and and to leave immediately with no explanation as to why. Our house burned down January 7th and we're homeless and have nowhere else to go and limited funds to do so. Then as we are going to be ready to leave after packing up the car they actually met us out at the car on the parking lot and said that one of our dogs had made a mess on the floor in the bathroom which is tile by the way, and we were required to pick that up or we would be charged an extra fee. So my fiance had to go in and clean it up after being asked to leave immediately or they would call the police. Extremely rude and heartless thing to do to somebody that has limited means and is struggling to begin with, which they were aware of. Then we get the bill and it turns out they charge us for all three days and there were cleaning fees on top of that. Did our puppies have a couple accidents yes but they were nothing that would have required them to charge us the amount that they did. Not to mention we paid the pet deposits for both pets and I'm not sure what that was for if not for an accident or two. I would never ever ever recommend this hotel to anyone and I'm still trying to figure out how to get the extra day that was not used reimbursed on my card which they are not being cooperative about. Very disappointed in not just their service, but their ability to be compassionate to another human being in any way...
Read moreWe stopped after 17 hours of driving last night in Warrenton, Missouri at the Super 8. Dave, who had to drive the entire time, was exhausted. After he went to sleep, I peed and flushed the toilet. It backed up and started flooding.
I ran out to get the owner of the hotel. His first response was "What did you do?" That made me angry. I said, "I peed and flushed the toilet." He asked me if I needed a plunger. I said, "No, I need you to bring the plunger and something to clean up the mess with. Its overflowing."
By the time I got back to the room, the toilet had overflowed into the hallway. It finally stopped running, but at that time, the entire entry way of the room was flooded.
The owner told me that he would give me the key to the room across the hallway and I could use the bathroom in that room all night. However, he wasn't going to give us a new room.
I told him that I wasn't going to do that. I needed to take a shower. I had to get up several times during the night to use the bathroom. I wasn't going across the room. Plus, the room was flooded.
He informed me that since he had no other pet rooms available, he couldn't give me a different room. I told him that he was going to get an extremely nasty review. He told me it was a housekeeping issue and not his fault. I told him that the situation was ridiculous and he was going to get a nasty review.
He said the room across the way wasn't pet friend. I told him that my six pound dog wasn't going to hurt his room. Finally, he told me that he would give me the room across the hallway, but told me not to ever come back to his hotel. Not a problem, Dude.
Side note, on the website it says he charges $15 for pets. He...
