I drive to STL at least a few times a month, searching for the most amazing foods and flavor experiences I can find. I definitely was not expecting much from a little hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Warrenton, let alone expect it would actually become my favorite Mexican restaurant. This place is LEGIT. I used to regular Casa Tequila quite often, but noticed it wasn't quite the same after they built a second location. It's still good but Taqueria El Tapanco has become my new staple for sure.

Everything is seasoned perfectly, the meat was tender and delicious; the herbs and veggies were fresh and plentiful. The service and staff are wonderful; very kind, friendly, and quick to have us seated and served, with genuine smiles and hospitality.

The salsa is the best I've ever tried. If I could have put a straw in the cup and drink it straight without being judged, best believe I would have. Call it a Spanish Smoothie and sell it on the menu -- I'd buy it every morning before work 🤣

The Birria was the best though. 😙👌🏼 It's a must if you visit. The corn tortillas I haven't found fresh like that in ages.

Can't wait to go back and try more stuff on the menu. Even if you're not in Warrenton, you need to put it on your To-Go list and try it...

I really hope this place stays in business for a long time. We only visit Warrenton once a year, but when we do, the restaurant choices are usually slim pickens. I'm so glad we saw this while driving through and took a chance. This is some of the best Mexican I've had in my life. Everything was clearly fresh made, including the chips, salsa, guacamole, etc. Good portions, reasonable prices (considering the quality of the food). Definitely worth a visit even if you're just passing through. Be patient though, the staff primarily speak Spanish so if you don't, you may have to wait for a staff member who speaks English better to take your order. What a fun experience to have authentico Mexican music & cuisine! Our waitress was the sweetest; and so very accommodating to all our needs, especially helping us understand the various cuts of beef options for numbers of selections on the menu!
