This use to be a super 8 many years ago. I was in town visiting friends. We stayed 3 nights. The place needs some TLC. The carpet in the rooms is old and extremely dirty. The bathroom ceiling tile had mold, the exhaust fan looked like it had never been clean. The linens looked to be clean so that was a plus. The breakfast was nothing fancy, they say hot breakfast but only thing hot is waffles, rest is cereal, muffins, bread, and drinks. The people who own it were nice when checking in. There is a nice walking trail near by so that was a perk. Overall it wasn't horrible but I have definitely stayed at nicer but it reflected the price. This place didn't cost us much so it worked. I think I will try the Hawkeye hotel down the road next time.

$25 Pet Fee No bugs Not a bad place. The outside needs some curb appeal, mowing, the side stone wall repaired, and remove the broken picnic bench. The roses are beautiful at the gazebo. (Even better if there were new benches). We stayed outside there most of the day. The inside lobby is nice. Rick, the staff member, was very nice and friendly. Our first room had dirty sheets, so he moved us to another room. Both rooms needed a little fixing up, but it was no big deal. We slept well. Bed linens were clean and free of stains. The water pressure was great but slow draining. Breakfast was waffles, cereal and pastries. We'd definitely stay here again. We enjoyed our day in this little town.

The front entry way is clean and that’s where it stops. I was in the area for business and stayed here, but I wish I hadn’t. My room was d i r t y. The ceiling fan was being “quieted” with pieces of paper wedged between the ceiling & fan. The mirrors were dirty, the renovations were poorly done, mold on the ceiling, built up dirt in the corners - overall gross. The worst part was the day after I left I found bed bug bites all over my body. Next time I’ll stay in Iowa City, I would never recommend this place or go back.

The breakfast makes the place, and they have the nicest towels I've ever seen in a budget motel. I stayed in one room here upstairs for a week and another downstairs for a month while on a work trip in January. Never saw a bedbug, but I heard of one couple that had to switch rooms one night and theirs was resprayed in the morning so it seems like they have it pretty well under control. The gym is small but you can get a good workout, the manager is pretty nice, I suggested to her putting a spray bottle and some towels for disinfecting the weights/elliptical/sit up bench. Housekeeping does not do it and I think people like wiping their own machines anyway. They clean the rooms every day. It's nice there. Quiet, with very cool places within driving distance, and supposedly they are trying to get a hot tub soon. Nice flat-screen TV with cable in the rooms, and 24/7 coffee...

Located just north of town, this hotel was exactly what we needed for a family visit. The room was large and quiet and the staff friendly. The water pressure was poor, but the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was very basic with only sweet muffins, waffles or cereal, but we never needed anything except coffee before visiting family anyway. Very limited sink countertop, and if you hung anything on the hanging rod, it limited the amount of space to stand by the sink. With all the space in the main room, I wish they had configured that better.||||The biggest criticism would be that the door to the hall opened directly next to the small sink, so if you were standing at the sink, you were definitely exposed to...
