White Moose Inn — Hotel in Washington

We first stayed at the White Moose Inn in the spring of 2016, shortly after it opened. It was fabulous. 9 years later it is exactly the same. It looks brand new and everything is immaculate. ||Barb and Tiffany are fabulous hosts. They are very friendly and helpful, welcoming us with big smiles and a personal escort by Tiffany to our room for an orientation of its many amenities and features. They also hosted a happy hour from 5-6pm for all the guests in residence, during which they poured a couple of very tasty wines and a local whiskey, which was very smooth and tasty. They also provided us with a wealth of information on places to visit in the area and other restaurants to try (we were in Washington, VA for my birthday dinner - at the Inn at Little Washington, of course). ||Guests are able to help themselves to soft drinks and bottled water from a well-stocked fridge in the bar area at any time. Breakfast is included - during our visit it comprised of a very tasty locally made quiche, granola with yogurt and fresh fruit, along with juices, coffee and tea. ||The White Moose Inn is an exceptional place, and we enthusiastically recommend it to anyone visiting Washington, Virginia. We stayed at the white Moose Inn on a Saturday, as we were dining at the Inn at Washington that evening. I have to say the Inn is charming, and has had some upgrades that were tastefully done. The rooms were spacious and the amenities were better than most of the hotels I have stayed in. All the rooms had TV's and streaming, and you had views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, snacks, and a great deck to relax on. There was even a happy hour with snacks and wine or whiskey. The real treasure at this venue is the staff; polite, knowledgeable, and willing to go the "extra mile" to accommodate the guests. I don't have much experience with B&B's at all, but I definitely had one of the best times staying at The White Moose Inn. I was greeted by one of the innkeepers Lin and he immediately made us feel at home. The decorations of the entire Inn has a very cozy feel to it that I've never seen anywhere else. We stayed in the suite which was very spacious and had a cabin feel to it. The service provided by Lin and Lorraine was excellent.
