Just a short drive from reno. It's a beautiful campground. Most spots you are able to reserve. A hand full are first come first grab. But they fill up quick. I lucked out and got one. They allow doggo. They do have vault toilets but they were maintained just fine. They have well water that is certified every 2 weeks . Water is good and cold. They sell fire wood. But there was plenty of down wood to burn. The spots are far enough from one another. Short walk from the mt rose trail head.

Excellent campground with spacious, well-maintained sites. Every site has a picnic table, bear proof locker for your food and smelly items, a nice firepit with grill, and great tent spots, and except for the walk up spots, plenty of room for an RV or travel trailer. There are also pit toilets and water hydrants. I stayed here while backpacking the Tahoe Rim Trail, and it felt quite luxurious compared to the backcountry camping. The camp host was also very friendly and helpful.

It's very quiet here and there's really nothing to do but if you love to star gaze then this is a great place to do it. Camp sites are very clean and they have nice tent camping pads and patios with fire pits. No water close by and no hook ups and if you're not use to the high elevation it can take a toll on your body. We had a good time but will definitely have to bring board games next time .

With only 26 campsites, this campground is nearly always full. Definitely reserve a site. The campground was renovated a few years ago and the campsites upgraded with new tables on concrete pads and leveled tent sites with a sand base. Restrooms are pit toilets but are kept clean and stocked by the camp host. Water is available near the toilets.| The campground is conveniently located near the Tahoe Rim Trail (Mt. Rose Trailhead) and the Tahoe Meadows where miles of trails ranging for an accessible interpretive trail to moderate/difficult trails to Marlette Lake or Relay Peak.| View of the sky at night is spectacular with no...

This is a great small campground with quick access to the Mount Rose trailhead and a short drive to Lake Tahoe. Many other hikes, swimming, or other outdoor options nearby too. There are a variety of sizes of campsites allowing for small or large groups, for both tent and RV camping. The picnic tables and campfire pits are good quality, and some sites have cement pads around the fire pit. There are bear boxes for food at each site too. There are no showers but the bathrooms are well maintained and always stocked with TP. The camp host was kind and welcoming. I will definitely return...

I camped at Mt Rose Campgrounds for the first time late August 2022. The campgrounds are spacious and very well maintained, and they are located in a beautiful area. When I arrived I was greeted by the most friendly and helpful campground host I've ever met. Andrew drove me around the grounds so that I could see what was available. I stayed several times over the course of fall 2022 and was glad to have Andrew and Ashley, who both exemplify the meaning of "host"! I hope they are doing well and that I see them again in the Fall of...
