Me and my partner are traveling for work and we paid for a week at family inn, for the price, you get what you paid for. The floors are redone with a wood, the dresser and side table are in good condition. BUT the first night we stayed I woke up with 4 bites on my arm, I went to the office and let the woman working in the window no she completely shut me down and told me that there are no bugs in the room that they have pesticide people that come out to prevent this. So I let it go I stayed a couple more nights because we did pay for a week and as the days went on I and my person that I was staying with there have collectively over 40 bites all over our body. On the third night we were supposed to move rooms because when we checked in they put us in a kitchen room that had a stove for the price of one that didn't because they didn't have a room that wasn't a kitchen available. Me and the person that I was staying with both work sun up to sundown so we leave the room at 7:30 in the morning or 8:00 and we don't return until about 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. so we weren't able to move rooms. On the third night when I called to address the bites again he told me that I needed to move that day which I told him around 6:00 or 7:00 p.m. we would he then had someone come let me in my room because my key card wasn't working and then decided to call her which is his employee to let me know that we have to exit the room when our week was up due to "contracted workers" having to have the rooms. Nobody else in the complex that I talked to who also live there told me that he never told them that they had to leave so it was just us that had to vacate the room and I can only assume it was because I was pressing the issue about bugs and the bites on my arms. He also told me there were no bugs so whenever I left on the 6th day I had collected already three bugs that were dead because I killed them and put them on a plate on a tissue took my key card to the office pressed the buzzer nobody came out even though they live behind the office and so I just left it there and I had called him at around 9:20am something on September 25th and let him know that we vacated the room and that I left the bugs in my key card in the office all he said was thank you and hung up the phone. Him and the woman were completely dismissive about the situation. You do get what you paid for but you don't pay to be bitten by bugs and the people that live actually live in one of the rooms across the parking lot told me that her friend stayed there and she was also being eaten by bugs and so she ended up leaving and moving to a different room.
When we first checked in everyone was very friendly very nice, the motel looks like any other motel I've really ever seen it was quiet when we got there the water does get hot but be very cautious getting rooms because there...
Β Β Β Read moreIf you come to the Family Inn expecting the stereotypical hotel feel of today's society this is not the place for you. But if you want a vintage experience that takes you back to the family road trip vacations of the past then you are in luck with this place. The owners are a wonderful couple that accommodated us when we had to come to the tiny town of Watseka unexpectedly for a family funeral with a tight budget. They even called the morning after our first night to check on us and make sure we had everything we needed. While the rest of my family set up at the run of the mill Super 8 just down the street for $80 a night, my kids and I got to experience the historical, old time feel of real hospitality at the bargain price of a two night stay for $100. I have a lot of family in this area and this will be our home away from home every time we have to come into town. The only reason I won't give it 5 stars is because I don't want to give people unrealistic expectations because of some of the conditions of this historical building, but we were comfortable and felt...
Β Β Β Read moreDon't believe these other reviews! It is a Nasty place! We got caught with no where to lay our heads, and had no choice but to stay there. Ugh. Our first clue should have been the NARKAN Kits (for drug overdose) that are available for free at the check in window. Nothing happened to us or our motorcycles, but I think we got lucky. So much suspicious activity going on all the time. People everywhere, going into others rooms, cars pulling in and out. People yelling from the cars. At 1:15am I got woke up to some guy yelling profanities at a girl just outside my door. There was a little boy, probably 3, running around still at 10:30pm when we braved going to bed. They appeared to be living there. The room was only bed, tv, and nasty bathroom. STAY AWAY. The reviews are lies. This...
